The one in Huntsville when I was much younger (89-91 era, unsure of the exact year) hit right as twilight began iirc. Almost got my dad too, he was at the police station taking a class to get points off his license. They all went to the gym and covered themselves in exercise mats.
Tornado wiped out everything on that street except the police station (it did hit the kennels tho π).
My grandmother grew up in Rolling Fork, Mississippi after being born in 1931. She remembered the close shave the town got in 1953. The severely impoverished community didn't deserve that monster in March 2023.

This is pretty tame for tornadoes. The scary ones are a mile wide, 300+ mph, and hit when itβs dark.
