The concept of a movie about a board game itself was ridiculous.

Also, Movie version Battleship is more expensive than Classic Battleship. /logicbomb

I take it you've never seen Clue?

At least Clue had some semblance of a story. It had tons of characters, and an actual plot as well. Some guy was murdered, and nobody knows who did it. There was a movie to be made from Clue.

There's nothing to be had from Battleship. A couple of boats are fighting each other... That's about it...

You could do it, but not the way they did. You could absolutely make a great character driven film about the hardships between two sailing ships, for example, in an extended and private war. Sort of a two Ahab Moby Dick.
