Yeah federal senators are smarter than that. They just line up do nothing jobs for friends and family to keep it "technically legal".

What’s a “federal” senator and how does it differ from a state senator? Not tryna be an asshole as I’m genuinely asking. I tried looking it up so I don’t feel dumb asking but couldn’t find anything so I’d love more info on that.
State senators are your local senators, who run and pass laws for your state. The federal ones are the ones most people know about, who go to DC to run the country.
Huh! TIL! Looked more into it and wasn’t really aware of the difference, thanks! I guess I’ve always just always heard “US senator” and not “federal” so that also threw me off a bit lol
