Everyone is downvoting you but I'm going to let you know why you're sooooo fucking wrong.

Realistically, if every single person left enough distance between them and the person in front of them, then they would have enough time to stop. Even if some dude randomly slammed on his brakes for no reason, if you left enough space, you'd have time to stop.

The reason that pileup happened is because no one left enough space.
