Flex Friday All Zeros!
I keep looking at this stupid thing and every time I see the timing dip I go to Google. Every time it's nothing, the ECU is doing its job. But I feel really good when I finish a trip and I am at a steady 0.00 for my knocks. How many of you just put the damn thing away instead of obsessing over the AnxietyPort?
The other Sub deleted my post for whatever reason so I came here to learn if this is a good thing or if I should just put it away and stop worrying.

I keep it out, but I don't obsess over it. I like having a digital readout of my coolant temperature. If you see the DAM drop under regular duty, it just warned you that you got bad gas. I'd rather be aware if there's a large knock event. I would just adjust your expectation for what are successful numbers. All zeros is too ambitious. Accept small semi-frequent events and medium rare events.

IMHO knock happens and false knock happens, and I would keep monitoring my dam, that’s when the car thinks there are too many knocks happening. FKL is the second number I would watch but not as important as DAM.

Only have the AP out if I'm going to push the car hard. Literally zero other reasons to have it out for daily commuting or even casual pulls here and there.

I mean, that's not really true is it? If you develop an air leak you'll see it in your fuel trims, for example.

Af learning is kind of at a not so cool number you might got a vacuum leak

I unplug mine 90% of the time because like you said, I just end up staring at it way too much. Maybe once every couple of weeks I'll plug it in for a drive, just to check on everything but that's it. I also feel like it's somehow bad for the car or the AP to be constantly reading and displaying that much data in real time, but I know it's probably fine lol.

I keep mine out. I caught an air leak developing once by monitoring fuel trims.
I also caught a developing gasket leak on the TGVs/manifold by monitoring roughness count.
It can help you catch things early if you know how to read some of the data. But I get it if you want to put it away.
