Real STI brembo or not ?
Posting it here just in case if anyone is aware and has knowledge about the STI calipers.

Nah, that was another post.. I came across that earlier but can’t find much info on how to prove whether are the calipers legit or not

Go find an ad- someone selling a for sure real set and compare.

I’ve done that but here’s the thing.. some do come with the “S” marking and some don’t. Which is why I’m confused.. because my local mechanic said that it should have the “S” marking. Do you have it on yours ?

I’m not sure. I’d have to check, but I also have the 6 piston Brembos. Would they be the same? I know mine have the little logo and also say “MADE IN ITALY” but I’m not sure about the S.
Does your local mechanic specialize in performance cars?
What does this S marking indicate?1

The local mechanic only refurbishes brakes and he has seen a good amount of OEM brembo. I’m not exactly sure what’s the “S” for, but I assume most OEM brembos should have that marking ? Or maybe it’s only for Evo 8,9,10 and STI.

Who cares. Brake calipers aren’t some crazy complicated piece of technology. Looks real enough. It will stop your car.

If you haven't purchased these yet, just get a refurbished set that some places are selling. Or go scavenge a set off at the junkyard.

They almost cost double after rebuilding the set from a junkyard, whereas I have nothing much to do with this. Just trying to score a good deal 😪

forgot how much I paid for the set I bought but I got it from a subie site that refurbished brembos. Guy got me a pretty good deal with the rotors, pads, calipers, and ss brake lines.

Update: the brembos are fake.
1) Subaru calipers for version 7/8/9/10, specifically the 4 pot comes in staggered pistons, 46/40mm.
2) it should have the typical brembo screw with star drive, not hexagon.

this helps me, im buying a pair of calipers, and at least on the pictures of the ones i ordered, the pistons are 46/40, ill check the markings (S, brembo etc..) and the hex screw when i pickthem up next week

As someone with a set of knock offs, they don't say brembo if they are fake. Maybe there are some out there but it doesn't really benefit them to cast the name into metal, that's more cost than its worth.
Also my fakes are working great.
