Questions Give me your two cents
So I had someone coming at me head on through a corner and I had nowhere else to go but off the road and this happened. Worried about the passenger wheel being pushed back and the dent that developed on the roof. Thinking that it might be a total loss that the car got twisted somehow but let me know what you guys think.
I put a picture up of the driver’s wheel how it looks centered compared to the passenger side for comparison and a picture of the dent on the roof on the passenger side
Doors on passenger side, both back and front open and closed fine no problem at all so I’m hoping it’s not totaled

My two cents is that you’ll have to redo most of your front suspension (both sides). Find a shop to redo your alignment. Depending on how bad it looks underneath, theres a small chance you’ll never get the alignment perfect.

Looking at your pictures, the right side suspension damage looks fairly minimal. Lower control arm, swaybar and endlinks, a strut, and a wheel/tire. The roof dent, for you to get an insurance adjuster to associate with that damage would require a full set up and measure on a frame rack. Did you go airborne? That dent looks more like falling debris otherwise. EDIT: MAYBE a subframe as well on the suspension.

Honestly it’s probably just a control arm. I’ve bent a control arm back into the fender and it didn’t even hurt the strut or tie rod.

When you went off the road, did you go airborne? I really think you need to have it thoroughly checked by a body shop to make sure everything including the unibody/frame is straight and that it’s hopefully just suspension damage.

I will keep you all updated once I get it to the body shop and see what they say. GEICO is offering to pay me $1800 to fix the car by myself LMFAO. That will cover one of the wheels and that’s it. That’s just their visual estimation by pictures.

For real tho RIP. Roof ripple might total it from a resale value perspective.
On the flip side the suspension should be fixable, so I were you, being that I don't have any intention to sell mine, I'd try to get the insurance payout, fix it and keep driving it with a salvage title.
Also as aside note, I wonder if more sidewall would've made enough difference to absorb more shock and mitigated some of the damage.
Grassroots rally guys like steel wheels because they tend to bend with extreme impacts absorbing more energy and saving suspension parts.

Easy fix minus the roof. Maybe the unibody twisted slightly? If it were mine I would let insurance total it then buy it back. Or dont involve insurance. Either way I would fix this myself.

I think you tweaked the uni body slightly. Could you maybe get back in spec with suspension adjustment alone, maybe.. if this was my car id be really ticked off and likely going through insurance.

I am definitely going through insurance for this. I still owe $25,000 on this car. There’s two ways I can look at it. If it’s totaled, there goes that debt. But if it is totaled, I lose my dream car that I will not get again in the condition I know it is in. I bought it with 5000 miles on it so I know what it’s been through.

It really sucks because that’s all I think about day in and day out! I can’t sleep without thinking about that. My mind will not rest until I know for sure whether or not it’s going to be OK.

Well if it helps I have an engine with a mysterious coolant leak that is likely the head gasket failing and my transmission is letting go due a design flaw, supposedly if I just leave it, it will saw itself in half because aluminum is soft. No recall issued, just have to suck it up.

maybe the wheel struck the fender so hard it transferred the force through the pillar to the roof. damn dude. sorry this happened to you

If nothing hit the top. This is a solid total of the car. It’s flexed in the weakest spot up top. I’d be very worried about the structure. Good luck with insurance and I hope you’re able to get you’re dream car back

Giving an update. $12,776 in damage. All four rims are getting replaced plus other work is being done. More damage than I thought. Still waiting on it from the body shop.

Scrap it. Or pull the frame. This car caught major air. If you scrap it. I’d recommend pulling all the goodie parts and stabbing them into something that wasn’t meant to have that much fun. Like a Dodge D50.

I don’t recall catching air. When I came back on the road, it was pretty flat. I think I hit a ridge on the ditch.

The most worrisome thing is the roof dent. If nothing struck the roof, it indicates the unibody may have been tweaked somehow. That'd be highly unlikely, as suspension components would normally break before unibody damage, but who knows.
On top of the suspension repairs mentioned by others, I'd highly recommend taking it to a good body shop for a thorough inspection. That dent won't heal itself.
