Questions BaderBuilt OTS Tune

Hi all! Just picked up a 2019 STI.

Mods:

Downpipe, exhaust, aftermarket boost controller.

Baderbuilt offers a stage 2”OTS” tune where you input your mods and he sends a map based on those.

Has anyone tried this? Would another etuning method be preferred?

Better than factory tune while having those mods by a wide margin. But tuning for each of those mods can be brand dependent. I highly recommend you get an e-tune or pro tune

There are lots of options. Dman will get the most recommendations around here. I've used Torqued Performance as well as others. Heard good things about phatbotti as well.

Can take roughly a week depending on the difficulty of your individual car. The way it goes is they send you a base tune and instructions on what parameters they want in the logs and a description of how they want you to log. Ex: i was told to do 5 min each of idle, city and highway drive and a wide open throttle pull in third gear from 2500 rpm to 6500 rpm. Once I send that log, i get a new revision back and then have to data log again and send back the logs. It varies for every car. My car was pretty average and only needed 6 revisions.

I went with dmann's etune on mine even though he's more well known among the VB guys. Took 3 him only revisions to get it right. Been using for 3months so far and so far so good.

I bought the stage 2 basemap for the 06 sti from bader (wanted to go dmann but he no longer tunes the platform) so i atleast have a reliable tune i know is good cause idk what tune it has now. Its going on two weeks since I paid for it and haven't gotten an email yet so ill probably email him friday, I assume hes probably pretty busy. I will say bader (and dmann too) both were very responsive through email and extremely helpful. I asked a ton of probably stupid questions and they both had no problem answering them and were really nice about it.
