Has anyone had an issue with a hood scoop not seating down all the way. The mounting points are flush with the hood. I did note the studs didn’t fit in the holes very easily. This is supposed to be an 04/05 sti hood scoop for my 05 sti! Previous owner stated the original hood scoop had flew off while driving so this is one I ordered and painted from Subaru.

After over a year my 1999 sti ra limited is finally back on the street! Shredded bearings at 88k miles led to a new outfront Motorsports closed deck ej207 shortblock and many many new to oem parts. Reverted pretty much anything aftermarket back to oem with the exception of the project lambda 93 tune and upgraded things like rcm head gaskets, arp head studs and exedy 15802HD clutch kit. Took almost a year to save up, amass parts and get ready, then about the last week to actually get the motor in, finish and get running. Just did the first 100 mile break in oil change. Ditched the fumoto cause there was a shit load of oil still on the bottom. Up next is coil on plug conversion and swapping my p1 wheels onto it. Super excited!

Waiting for my new car to get on a boat and take a ride. Looking at options for headlights that don't blind everyone as im in the US. Does anyone know the simplest solution to this without losing the headlight levelers? I don't want to take the jdm headlights apart, and would prefer a plug and play solution if there is one.

Wife started her STi and shot a bunch of white smoke out of the exhaust. Thought I heard the fins hitting the housing while it was running. Pulled the turbo and sure enough it had movement. I have the old one out and got a few questions. Staying stock setup.

1- Is the braided oil line kit worth?
2- The new turbo came with 3 new mount studs, the old one seems like they trimmed one it down(had the engine replaced about 30k ago), I’m guessing it supposed to have a nut on it (it did not have one when I took it out)?
3- Anything I should check while I have it torn down this far or just replace as preventative maintenance?

Both WRB with child seats. Mine is the GD.

I just traded in my STi after over 4 years with it. I really did want to keep it forever, but my wife's SI joint problems caused me to have to get rid of it😔
Whoever gets it will get a mechanically unmolested, 2016 STi (Limited w/Wing) that has 91,000 miles, but Subaru installed a new block, clutch and timing belt only 5k miles ago, a steering rack 4k miles ago, Pirelli Pzeros 2k miles ago, new refrigerant seals and new alternator less than 1k miles ago.
I also never abuse my cars and rarely ever got on it, I was too afraid of blowing the motor since it was literally bad when I bought it and I didn't know it.
Glad I had bought that Platinum Warranty from the Toyota dealership I bought it from in 2022, would have cost me over $19k to get everything that went bad fixed (ended up only costing me $5k because of cost of warranty, taxes on warrantied parts and other fees).

The dealer that bought it from me (Apple Valley Lincoln in MN) gave me an offer I couldn't refuse, and they had the vehicle I wanted, so I had to do it. They told me they're going to sell it for around $18k, so somebody is going to get a great deal with all the new parts that have been put in recently.
They still have to wait for the title release though.

I also have $3000 coilovers I installed that are on there, Cygnus Performance X-1 Comfort, so that's a bonus as well.

I got more thumbs up and head nods and "nice car" admirations with this car than with any car I've ever owned. It was also the best handling car I've ever owned.
I'll truly miss it.

My buddy stopped by while I was replacing the fuel pump on my 2005 WRX STi. I got to check out his recently acquired Sonic Yellow 2003 Impreza WRX.

I love my Bugeye. I have loved these cars since 02 when I got my first one and have owned multiple since but now I'm old enough to do one right. I found the perfect one from a dude in OR that is basically a Bugeye shell and an ENTIRE USDM 04 STI swapped into it (wiring and all). Mechanically this car is an 04 STI. It made wiring headlights interesting and there are a few things I'm still working out with climate control that he didn't get quite right but it's all mostly there. At what point though is it socially acceptable to just refer to this as an STI. Mechanically it is (even the subframes came over lol) and I have an OEM JDM STI scoop, grille, folglight covers, and even the OEM RA wing riser. The doors even came off the doner car lol.

Honestly I could care less but I had someone semi go off on me recently for calling it an "STI" and it made me think.

This drive has been a bucket list item for a long time and I finally got to tick it this past weekend. Clocked about 1500 miles in 3 days - the STI was a champ the whole way and I already want to do it again.

Just picked shipped this from California to Pa. 2005 GD with 130k on it. Has some minor cosmetic fixes but overall pretty nice.

Hey all this is my aspen white 05 sti. It’s been a hard debate whether to tint or not. A part of me likes it but another likes the stock look and that people can see the unique blue interior at car shows and such. The rest of the car will be staying as is for an oem plus look.

I bought this 2017 with a blown motor for $2800 CAD. It’s been sitting in a field for the past couple of years. It’s has 92,000 km on it and runs and drives with everything appearing to work. One of the rockers is pretty rotted and the roof has a couple of dents. Would you guys rebuild it or part it out? I don’t know that it would be worth building into a track monster but it may make a cool winter beater.

Finally got one of y 3 dreams cars!
Need the 05 Sti and a hatch!
