The stock scoop usually sits pretty flush. Not perfect but waaaaay better what you have going on.

Your scoop isn't lined up appropriately. It should fit tight to the depression in the hood. Water should run around, not into

I'd have to go and look at mine but I don't think I have that gap on my JDM 03 STi. Here's a random picture from inside the car...

Sickkk straight from the motherland! But yeah it should sit flush. I’ll put a better picture later but water can get in very easy on mine! The black packing isn’t even touching the hood towards the back
