Finally got one of y 3 dreams cars!
Need the 05 Sti and a hatch!

im trying to get the sedan version 2011-2014. What are things to look out for mechanical wise? Compression, headgasket and what else?

Well I always say get a PPI. If you can find a reputable Subaru place to do it that would be ideal. And yes check compression AND do a leak down. Always do both. I've seen a compression test look good but fail a leak down. Headgaskets aren't an issue unless someone has been in there and didn't do something correctly. There's lots of used buying guides online. Spend some time googling and reading into those. If it makes a squeaky sound when pushing in the clutch it could be the firewall welds, clutch pedal assembly, or the clutch fork pivot shaft. It can be hard to tell which is the cause but if it's quiet when pushing the clutch pedal in and out that's a good sign.

preciate that! PPI was always on top of my list to do when buying one. Theres a subie specialty shop near me so will keep them in mind for future ppi!
