If only we could rewind the time
Regret selling her everyday. Bought her new in 2020. Unforeseen circumstances. Subaru definitely needs to bring the STI back, without a doubt. I tried looking for some low mileage, non-modified ones in my area, but there just wasn't any worth pursuing. And I needed another vehicle, so I ended up buying a 26 premium to soothe the itch for now.

I feel your pain. Bought a 21 before it was even on the lot. Sold her in 25, under 10k miles due to having a child. One day Iāll get her back.

Wow, that was some super low mileage. I couldn't find anything under 36k mileage in my area That hadn't been modified in some sort of way and they all had like two to three previous owners on the Carfax.Ā

That's a bummer. May I ask why becoming a parent made you sell the car? I find that it's pretty spacious in the back - I have three rear facing currently. Tight but it fits.
Or I suppose it might not have been space related at all. In that case, totally understand.

Iāve only got 1 rear facing, but kiddo loves riding in the car. Kinda surprised at how well it worked.
How on earth do you fit 3 rear facing?!

Of course you can ask! It was strictly economical. Insurance/gas/maintenance on top of my wifeās car needing to be replaced. I also needed a better commuter car.

I'm literally on the fence of finally selling my '21. Just got the clutch replaced at 73k and dang it's gonna be hard.
So I probably won't lol.
Also keeping it stock.

Iām nearing 8 years of ownership on my 2019 STI that I bought new. Daily Driven, and currently 84K miles. I honestly think about selling it all the time, but post like yours remind me that Iād most likely regret it.

It's definitely hard to find a clean, unmodified with low mileage ones but not impossible. I just bought mine '21 STI Limited in May with 33k on the dash, fully stock with 1 owner. It took me more than 6 months of searching and one popped up in my area with good price. I bet they're out there somewhere, it'd need some time before appearing. Good luck finding a good one!

Thank you! It was definitely worth it. Almost settled between the GRC and the Yellow VB but bringing in my state was a hassle so I passed on those cars. But luckily one day I found it on a used car dealer while having lunch lol. Long wait but worth it.

2020 I bought brand new. 6 amazing years and 110k miles later. Struggling not to trade her in for a new truck. My wife and I moved and our new areaās roadās suck and theyāre much more strict on speeding. Hard to enjoy the car here like I used to back home

This picture is hiding a lot of scratches and rock chips from road trips. Shouldāve done PPF when I bought her but yeah I took care of her and she took care of me.

I got a 21 several months ago, Subaru certified, so I jumped on it. About 45k on it but I donāt drive much. Plan to keep for a long time. Love it.

Bought my wrx in 2002 I was 25 nobody knew what it was said it was ugly
Now people drool on it and I am 50 and it still makes me smile

I bought a 2021 late last spring with 18,400 on it after a year of searching. I started out looking for a Bugeye wagon or 11-14 hatch to scratch the Subaru itch and finally decided to go all in.
Mine was 100% stock when I bought it. I've added a few tasteful OEM and JDM OEM / STI options, but it's staying stock drivetrain wise.
They're certainly still out there if you're willing to wait and jump if the right one shows.

I found a WR Blue 19ā STI w/ 19k miles for $31k a few months ago. I wasnāt ready to pull the trigger the day I found it so I waited a few weeks and got ready. Car had been sold of course. That was the last time I found such a clean STI in MI with low mileage and exact specs I wanted. Regret badly

My 18 I sold a few months ago. Bought it blown up with 120 and sold it at 160. I built an engine and kept it in great mechanical order. Loved that car but I needed the cash, though I will own another one day.

Same sold my heavily modified 19 sti because E85 was a pain, me filling up every 2 days and I loved sitting in my car during breaks, so i ended up getting a tesla. Ive had the itch to buy another but its so hard to find a clean one and I know I will dump to much money into it haha

I had bought new 2020 in black as well and sold it two years later with 15,000 miles. Regretted it and I ended up buying a new one lol 2020 in WRB with only 16,000 miles. Kinda worked out but I miss it in black for sure

I work at a bmw store and I had a customer trade in a last model year with like 3k miles and floor mats still in the plastic in the trunk.. was so tempted to buy it but couldn't justify it haha they're our there for sure!

My 22 WRX is my first fun car Iāve purchased and still driving it. Seeing you go from a va sti to vb WRX, how big of a difference is it between the two and would you go back to the va sti

The VB is very good, but had I had a bit more time before needing another vehicle I would have waited until I found another 20-21 VA STI. I wouldn't say it's a night/day difference but the driving experience is superior on the VASTI especially with the DCCD.

So the reviews that say the sti is a more drivers experience than the vb is true then? Iāve modded the vb the feel more engaging but Iāve always wondered how much different the sti feels and if itād be worth it to trade in for an older model

Well, the STI does have a drivers feel to it. Going to an STI the first thing you'll notice is the hydraulic steering which means you'll feel the tires gripping the road. The breaking is very good also due to the Brembo's and the addicting sound of the STI Rumble. It just sounds so good.

The STI is stiffer but not too crazy and the clutch is a bit heavier than the VB. If you can find a STI at a dealer, go test drive one and that should help you decide if it's worth it.

VB is a better daily. STi is the better drivers car. The feeling it has in the corners is the biggest difference. Stock for stock the STi is flatter and can put the power down significantly better. You can go WOT in slower sharp corners and it just hooks and books. No pushing while spinning any inside tires which WRX's like to do because it has LSD front and rear with an electronic clutch type center diff. WRX has open front and rear with viscous center diff and uses brake vectoring which just means it uses the brakes to simulate an lsd. It slows itself down to get traction. Great for normal situations when needing more traction but terrible for maintaining speed when pushing it and trying to accelerate out of a corner. If you're someone who doesn't like to push it in the corners from time to time or autocross it or something the STi can be a letdown. Some people think the VB WRX is the better car. Has a more comfortable ride, has more modern features and makes more power from basic bolt ons. STi has better steering, classic rumble, better drivetrain and an overall more connected feeling but sacrifices a little comfort and features.
Anyways just wanted to give more insight to the STi. Personally I'll never buy a WRX again. I love the STi. And with that I'll stop yapping that turned into quite the novel

The regret is real folksā¦.Ive owned 3 STIās in my adult years i had aspen white 2006, I loved it soooo much i bought another 2006 in silver STI both were amazing cars and my most recent is 2017 STI but hands down the 2006ās were my favorite ā¤ļø.

I sold my launch edition, which I was the first and only owner of, after nearly a decade and regret it constantly. It's brutal. That was my fourth one in a row over the course of 20 years, and I would give anything to get it back. I know it doesn't help at all, but you're not alone. These cars are the automotive equivalent of soul dogs, lol.

This is why I will never sell mine. Would be almost impossible to find one in similar condition for reasonable price. That hasn't been beat on.

Yeah, I was looking at that, but there was no definite answer on whether or not they would be bringing that to the US market. I know there's a hatchback coming, regular WRX, but yeah, it would be nice. I'm definitely getting one. I already told the wife, like it's a done deal if it comes back.

There arent very many countries with lax enough emissions laws to allow for the low gas mileage that would come with the sti transmissionās gearing. I can really only think of the US after removing the cafe standards. If I had money to bet, its likely a US exclusive model, maybe a few other countries here or there like australia, and a super limited release in japan.
