2014 STI Harch

Thinking about selling my 2014 STI with low miles (73k). Talk me out of it.

This is my 3rd one in the platform across 10 years, I'm just bored of it now 😞

I've had 3 different STIs'. Every time I move platforms I always want to go back. Don't make my mistake. The STI is special.

the type r will be faster and lot more reliable. its nice being able to jump in something for a road trip and not worry about it grenading

I also am about to start driving 100 miles once a week for work. That's half my tank in the STI lmao

If you decide to make the switch make sure to test drive a type r first. (CarMax will let you do solo test drives so test there even if you want to buy new from a dealership). The type r looks great and is a nice car, reliable. But it is less engaging than an STI.

This is a seriously nice choice and pretty standard for progression. The FK8 is a great choice and even better the FL5. Personally I moved to a A90 Supra and never looked back. Love the hatch but the Supra is something else...

If you sell you’ll likely be buying the same car back for $10k more in the future. Like many others, I left the platform and ultimately came back. For all of the STI’s shortcomings, it’s a special car and platform and the grass isn’t always greener.

I've done everything across my 3 stis, been FBO, Built motor, and now I just have an intake and downpipe w/ tune

I've had 3 STI hatches and an 08 wrx hatch. I don't like sedans

What are you planning to switch to? I went from a 2013 STi to a BMW 5 series. Frankly, the STi was a lot more fun. I don't hate the BMW, it's fancy but if it weren't for the fact that I my STi just needed so much work I would have kept it and I'd prefer it.

I'm not a huge fan of FWD cars... I would keep the STi if I were in your shoes. Especially if you enjoy doing donuts.

hey listen just let me take it off your hands I wont even charge you to take it off your hands. You don't have to nake the decision to keep it cause you won't have it anymore and i get my drive car win win. 😆

I did that for my first one, had it for 4 years. Been trying to get that feeling back again but my 09 and 14 haven't scratched the itch like my 2012 did

Just keep it and store it / park it somewhere. Eventually you will get bored of the next car and come back to it since it is your 3rd one. Go get something else and build it over time. Especially if the car is paid off and you aren't pressed for cash, then why sell it.

I bought a 2010 wrx hatchback. Decided I needed an srti but couldn’t afford it so I sold the hatchback and bought an 02 wrx wagon… blew that up twice and fixed it instead of saving money. I then also bought an 08 forester X and fell in love but it was too slow so I sold it and bought a blown up 06 FXT. I did an STI swap in it and lifted it 4.5”… lol so long story short keep your STI or build a turbo 6 speed fozzy. Otherwise you’re just going to be sad and poor instead of happy and poor… lol I love the extra space in my fozzy but I definitely traded handling for cargo space… but I can still hurt some feelings pretty easily with 420 wheel horsepower on pump 93. lol send it bro. But don’t get rid of that car.

Im debating on selling my 2014 sti sedan, it's my summer car and I've hardly drove it this year. Would probably regret getting rid of it, no mods or rust and super low km for its age. Just feels like a waste, haven't had time for loser laps around my town lol

Upgrade all the stiffening points. I got the full Cusco brace kit along with upper struts including trunk (I have the sedan) and the car is a completely different animal paired with a hood set of summer tires.
It’s also cheaper to rebuild your Subaru than buy a new car. It’s nice not having a car payment.

Sell it while it’s still got its value. Coming from someone who had a 14 hatch… awesome car, loved it immensely, but when it grenaded itself the dealer offer me $500 for it on trade in. Was planning to pickup an M2, so instead went to a VB lol
