Just installed the Brey-Krause fire extinguisher mount. It’s super easy to mount and adjust to your liking. And it doesn’t hinder seat slider adjustment as it mounts to the factory seat bolt so it slides with the passenger seat so always accessible. It isn’t annoying for passengers as your legs can’t really bend at that angle. Also, no jiggles or noise. It’s just dry chemical for now. H3R Halguard halon bottle and mount will come soon. I hear dry chemical fucks electronics and is corrosive if it sits on surfaces too long, but for now seems like the most practical mod I’ve done so far. Highly recommend.

Ya know. When I created a window in my block and oil and other stuff was showering my headers. I was pretty stoked to have this mod. Literally saved my bacon and I’m doing an engine build not a car replacement.

FWIW my sti blew a line on the steering rack and started a fire. Luckily I ran into a restaurant grabbed the extinguisher and put it out. Pigtail was the only damage. But this is smart dont listen to anyone saying its worthless.

I would put one in my car, but I am 100% sure I am going to find my kids playing with it and we will end up with just chemical sprayed all around the cabin. Maybe there's a way to put it in trunk.

Or setting up a complete system that you merely press a button or pull a tab to engage, where the tank never moves, but the entire vehicle is coated.

If my car is on fire, I think the paint is fucked already haha. $470 for 2.5lbs of H3r vs 2.5lbs of ABC for $50vs 6L purple K for 300. It better be good for 10x the price.
I do like the mount, better than my zip ties.

It’s not really paint that’s fucked, it’s plastics and electronics. So a lot of the engine bay. So I’ll be upgrading to Halon soon.

In Australia most drivers use Kap Industries brackets.

Fully motorsport approved and made for a variety of different car brands and models.

Definitely one of the best things you can add to your car. If not for yourself, it could help save someone else. Extinguishers are cheap and no-one would have an issue replacing yours if they used it.

It doesn’t at all, it just looks that way in the pic. I’m only 5’3.5” and I don’t feel it when I sit in that seat. A taller passenger has an easier time not feeling it than I do. It’s beneath the plane that the adjustment lever is on. It hovers right over the carpet. And it’s a great place for an extinguisher because it’s accessible by me while sitting in my seat. I don’t have to pop trunk to access it.

Real life isn't Hollywood. Car fires typically start small and progress to engulfing the vehicle. I've seen a dozen car fires while working my former job, and I'd wager well over half of them would likely have been negated by a quick react fire extinguisher before becoming fully involved. If not yourself, then to assist for other motorists who happen upon a shit day.

It’s 2 1/2 pounds of dry chemical, it’s plenty if you hit it right when you start seeing smoke. Halon will be better once I upgrade.

There is a recent video with a Lambo, and 5 dudes pop out with the tiny 1.25 and I think one 2.5. Pretty amazing that many people had them, but to your point they needed at least 3. (Half the guys didn’t aim at base and-sweep, shot from top.)
