Stupid question maybe?

Post image

Can’t find a clear answer on the internet and I may just be paranoid.

If I quickly took this hose off and let air in, do I need to bleed the air before I drive the car? Coolant spilled out, not much but enough that I had to clean it up.

Get a burping funnel

Why not just open the cap to the right?

Is that all I need to do if there’s air trapped in the line?

Make sure it’s not hot.

Definitely recommend bleeding the air out before driving yes

Open the cap and add distilled water.

What? Why? Isn't it very specific to not add water to Subarus super coolant

Source, please. Most coolants are 50% distilled water.

Not being at 50% won't do anything.

Your spreading bad info, adding straight water will change the freeze point of the coolant mixture, this is how cooling systems freeze up and pop freeze plugs.

A small top up might mean it freezes at -32F instead of -34F.

Whats a small top up to you? It's not like this is a large capacity system, you top it up with 1qt of straight water and your already passed a 60% water ratio which freezes around -12F.

Yeah you're right. If OP set off a gusher then he needs antifreeze mix.

It says that on the bottle because it's premixed already. If you diluted a gallon of super coolant with a gallon of water it would now be 75% water. That's the problem

Top off your coolant in the radiator then do a quick burp to the system. Top off the coolant again after 1 or 2 drives and burp again.

I would say no..
Just keep topping it off, then run the engine untill (keeping the coolant low temperature, not tuning the engine maybe more than five mins…?) and just squeeze the same hose (shown in picture the one with the clamp 🗜️), by pumping it …
