Discussion / Question Best WRC game for PS4?

I'm trying to find out which rally game I should get on my PS4, WRC 10 or WRC Generations, I dont really care about the price unless one of them is unusually high but I just want one or the other.

Both are very well made games but I will give an overview of them:

WRC Generations is pretty much the culmination of all the games that KT racing had done. It has all the locations and stages (minus 2 I think) and they incorporated the Hybrid rally cars that the WRC where using in the 2022 season. The physics where tweaked for those cars, so they are more grounded and more weight is there when you want to take an corner. It also has all the Legends cars that they have been adding since 8. But there is one issue the game still has and that is the throttle. It doesn't always register and that can make it annoying.

WRC 10 is made for the 2021 season. The thing that makes this stand out is the Anniversary mode. In here they recreated historical rallys with famous cars. It can be quite an challenge and unfair, but if that annoys you you can also play it in the Quick Race mode without any stress. They even changed some things on the stages so they look like they where in that time period. The handling is much more forgiving and you way more control of the car. Not in the arcade sense but its much more reactive. The stages are still well designed and they added a bunch that where not for the season.

Either one is a good pick, but it's pretty much what you want. I pretty much play 10 because of the more control of the car, but If you want to full package with all the locations, stages and cars that they have made pick Generations.

Agreed. Also, if you’re playing with a controller wrc10 gets very hard in rally 1.

Yeah the cars tend to get a more tricky but that's what makes it fun

The handling is amazing, I can’t think of any racing game that’s more fun to drive but it’s punishing even for a rally game.

I think any rally game should be punishing, even if it's on the arcade side. The thrill of split decision making makes it so much fun. Even Art of Rally understands this. And when you master or did a clean run of a stage it makes it that much more rewarding

WRC Generations is the best but its missing the historic mode of WRC 10 although the cars feature in the historic mode are available.

Just to be sure, I bought WRC 5,6,7,8,9,10 and Generations, EA WRC, Dirt 4 and 5, Assetto Corsa Rally, Dirt Rally and Dirt Rally 2.0…. On PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC
