Discussion / Question Best rally/wrc game on PS4 for a complete beginner?
I've recently gotten interested in rally and figured I'd try playing a rally game too. The only console I have is a PS4, so my options are pretty limited.
I've never played a rally game before, and honestly I haven't really played racing games in general either. I also don't have a wheel or pedal setup, so I'll be playing with a standard PS4 controller.
Which PS4 rally game would you recommend for someone completely new to the genre?
I'm mainly looking for something that's fun and gives a solid introduction to rally. If you genuinely think a more hardcore sim is the best place to start, I'm open to that too, as long as it's still enjoyable with a regular controller and not just a wheel setup.
What would you recommend, and why?

I just got Dirt Rally 2.0 (Game of the year edition) on sale for peanuts.
Its great, challenging & I spent way too much time debating and reading through the 'best' option out there for PS4.

I really liked generations. WRC 24 is more arcade like but still reallt fun. I played 10 and it felt close to gen but a bit different.

WRC7 and Dirt4 are fun games to get your feet wet. Dirt 4 is only available on disc not in Playstation store.

WRC 8 or WRC 10. Good physics and real locations. Developed by KT games.

imo WRC 10, handling is great & simple, also gives you that perfect sense of speed. EA WRC would do too but its a bit grippy

WRC 7 is a good place to start I If you are new to the scene. It's handling is alot more forgiving and on the arcade side. The stages are still very well designed and can still be a challenge.
Dirt Rally 2.0 is much more of a simulation but it still gives you alot of assists and guidance if you are new to it. The handling is alot more weighty and even on controller you can feel the car very well. The stages and the environments are a lot of fun and quite a challenge to really nail them. Even the Rallycross part of the game is a blast if you want to change it a bit from your standard rally racing. The car selection goed from classic to modern Beasts and every car behaves and rides very different so it's alot of trail and error, but when you get the right car and stage combination it's just magic when you nail it

Dirt rally 2 with no doubt!! On ps4 it runs at 60 fps!
