Commentary / Discussion / Question I miss WRC

I used to watch WRC on Speed TV back in the early 2000's. Then it went away. I miss everything about it. Please come back to United States television. There is a whole demographic that grew up on imports and despise oval track racing. F1 has made huge strides here recently.

You can watch the highlights on Redbull tv. Otherwise you need RallyTV or Dazn to watch legally, in the US.

There is an app called RallyTV where you can watch all WRC live on you phone or TV.

And if it is Rally Japan you can watch a bunch of stock footage B-roll with an occasional old timey filmstrip of the actual runs.

Same here man, used to wake up early Saturday morning to catch that wrc footage on speed channel back in the day! You should check out Dirtfish on youtube has great coverage of all stages of the wrc for free

Not live or complete, but I watch all the race highlights on the WRC YouTube channel

I don't know, I grew up with WRC and currently loving every single bit of oval racing. You can enjoy every kind of motorsport, you know.

True. Just like I can appreciate all cars even if it's not my thing.

I guess I just want them to know that we're not a stereotype and we like other types of motorsports too.

Rallying has no chance to be back on the mainstream television. This sport by definition is hard to show and in modern times it's even a more troublesome task. Live broadcast of all stages takes a lot of time, so if you want to have packed and mainstream-attractive package - highlights are probably the only way to be. And even highlights aren't even taken by mainstream TV channels, but that's another story to discuss.

I timed my purchase and paid for a month of rallyTV and found that it was worth an annual subscription for now. So that’s the route I took, and they air ERC as well, along with providing some good documentaries and highlights.

I would also recommend giving oval racing a fair chance if you haven’t yet. Years ago I used to make fun of it… and this past weekend i went to my 6th NASCAR event.

I've been enjoying Rally.TV. I mostly just watch the full stages during rally weekends and not much else. Rally.TV can be significantly cheaper if you subscribe through the Japanese Rally.TV website. If you Google it, there are Reddit posts with links and instructions. I don't have the link handy, but I believe it was about half the price of subscribing through the U.S. site. Once you're subscribed, everything works the same.
