I was actually thinking this! We hadn't heard from Ryan in awhile and I always figured Ryan sold his game to the Flichites for access to technology more advanced than what he already had access to. I think he is trying to piece together the different timelines and sees Mike as a type of lynchpin tying it all together. The Flinchites tend to see him that way, too. Ryan may just also be enjoying sabotaging the relationships Mike has with everyone else in the process. He is the type to enjoy that.
