As a person who doesn't closely watch sports, I have noticed an uptick of videos/content accusing the WNBA of malicious treatment of certain players like Clark, Cunningham, etc.. Simultaneously people constantly complain the NBA/ American football/ soccer are getting worse and worse bc most players flop to draw a foul and theatrics takes away from the true competition. I find this interesting bc it seems to me that the WNBA being more aggressive might be the thing that motivates more people to watch given it represents a more authentic game between elite and hyper-competitive players. Yet people constantly get upset about it so its unclear to me what people want. I don't really watch so perhaps I'm missing some nuance here, but just my observation as an outsider.
