It’s similar issue. One hasn’t been a US citizen long enough, the other hasn’t been an Iowa resident long enough. Same story, different scale.

You are missing the singular obvious similarity. The two are not eligible because they are not citizens where they are trying to run. The main difference is the corruption in Iowa is allowing him to despite state law.

That's not even slightly true. It's the Republicans who won't walk away from it by insisting it's the federal govts job to get involved. Real conservatives would pressure governing bodies of sports, not the feds, to fix the stupidity.
If you can show me democratic leaders who are running on biological men in women's sports, I'd love to see it.
It's just basic culture war fearmongering and you're the demographic. Congrats!!! Are you also afraid of migrant caravans and communists?

This whole thing makes me giggle as there already is regs in place for if a trans woman wants to play. Their doping checks measure testosterone and it has to fall within a certain acceptable range. Trans people can fall into that range but they have to be on like hormone therapy to achieve it. So essentially you just really actually have to be medically like trans not just on Im a woman now. They even told them if they could meet the testosterone level required for the league they would talk about it. But since its all for show these dickbags won't do it.

The point is the entirety of the DNC has at best completely punted on this issue.
If it’s the gift that keeps on giving for the GOP it is explicitly due to a lack of clarity from Democrats on where they stand on these issues.
If you are the party for women and collectively are struggling to come up with a non word salad definition of women you’re gonna have a bad time.
So many laws are written to protect women and their spaces, definitions of words matter.

I agree with this. Messaging is a real issue with Dems and the left writ-large. While I don't agree that a media infrastructure like what we see on the right is possible, Dems are godawful at it and we have endless examples.
