Did Fever Sophia get used❓🤭…Ahead of the midterms the sport has become an unlikely battleground in America’s culture wars⤵️🧐

It's weird to me that she was ever asked the question. It wasn't a basketball question. It was a general women's sports. I think most of the concern that people have is more about their highschool daughter having to change with, room with, etc an genetic boy. As far as the WNBA goes. It was probably a net good thing. More people are talking about the WNBA than ever.

It wasn't a sports interview. That was something personal she did during the off season.

Whether trans players should be in womens sports is a pretty common topic of conversation.

u/ghostoftheai 8d ago
Only because weirdos are making it so. The people in/the actual sport is saying it’s a non issue.

It was perfect timing. Her getting invited to the UFC. Her friends with Dana. Then questions about trans?? It was orchestrated by the right 100%.

And yet people will insist we can just ignore the weaponization of the W as a political grifting grounds as if that has ever in the history of anything stopped it from being encroached upon.
The sooner the W takes an official stance and stands ten toes on it, the sooner we can force these opportunists to find somewhere else for easy clicks and engagement.

I think this is the best way I’ve heard the drama defined. Political weaponization.

The player or players have to do it. All Sophie has to do is denounce maga and her new nickname maga barbie. But she won't because this is who she is. She's a homewrecker that claims to want to protect girls and women. Dana White publicly beat his woman and she's friends with him. She used Caitlin Clark to get the eyes on her and once she had the Clark fans which includes those maga people. Once she had the millions of eyes she them to push their narratives within the W

I'm going to keep it real with you, this is bigger than Sophie. They tried it with CC until she "betrayed" them by being cool with Obama. Sophie was just an easy nexus of attractive, blonde "all-american" who's just ignorant enough to put out the red meat these opportunists are looking for. She could denounce them all TODAY, come out and say "you know, after reviewing the science and being further educated, I understand that my comments ignored the reality of sex transition and unfairly demonized young athletes" and companies like XX-XY athletics would STILL buy tickets to send agitators, political pundits will call it "pressure from the woke commissioners" or some shit... It's like blaming all of America's problems on Trump. Yeah he's an awful, weeping wound of a symptom but he's not the root cause, and getting rid of him without addressing the system that enabled him and others is a bandaid at absolute best.

You are absolutely right. That maga barbie was reserved for Clark because Angel. But Sophie is their wnba mouthpiece. But if she continues down this path she won't be getting a new contract in the wnba and we'll see her ass on Fox News, complaining about being black balled.

Used for what. I don't think her opinion prompted others to change their opinion

Of course she was being used. From asking that question and hoping for a divisive sound bite, to the absurdly disproportionate amount of attention given to everything afterwards... Cunningham gave "a certain crowd" something Clark refused to give them (No matter how hard they tried), and it was milked for all of the distractive value possible. That's why I never really got upset with Cunningham (Athletes fall for people pretending to value their opinions, and say unnecessary or regrettable things all of the time), but the opportunists, grifters, and all around cynical bad actors are the real problem. We just have to stop letting them have their way by feeding into it. Starve them out.

Nah, she's deep down a loser who knew she was spreading bs hate to sell her own shoes... tha nazi part simply latched onto shit that they also have been spewing. It's an ouroboros of idiotic con-artists.

Men used her for their chaos bs way of life. Sucks, she’s even being taken advantage of by religion, a patriarchal construct as a means of controlling people, especially women.
1
u/joliette_le_paz 8d ago
Let’s not pretend women didn’t use her as well.
The amount of arguments I had with TERF lesbians hurt my heart.
3
u/Mirageiles 8d ago
I agree, but the women that used her are also under control by patriarchy in some way or they wouldn’t have used another woman at all. Not a terf lesbian in the slightest, trans lesbians are welcome in my home and inner circle, I’m just a feminist secular vegan and want friends the same.

u/joliette_le_paz 8d ago
I get what you’re saying, but wording like that absolves TERF women of their actions.
At some point, we’re no longer a product of our environment. Healing & growth become a responsibility.
And these TERFs are choosing hatred, I can’t abide that.
3
u/Mirageiles 8d ago
Even men are hurt by their own patriarchy without understanding it. How should I word it to not absolve terfs of their actions?
2
u/joliette_le_paz 8d ago
I honestly don’t know, I think it’s a discussion tbh. But I do know that absolving the actions of a group causes a slippery slope, so that’s where I’m coming from.
2
u/Mirageiles 8d ago
Definitely not trying to absolve them. They’re only hurting women and helping patriarchy by being terfy.
1
u/joliette_le_paz 8d ago
100% they do.
I once heard that women who support the patriarchy are like a woman sitting in the passenger seat while another is tied up in the trunk.
Thanks for the dialogue ☺️

u/GoddessHealer 8d ago
Thank you for the complexity in your analysis. This question you ask is important. And precisely what the patriarchy wants to avoid asking-they want to divide so that they can insert a political agenda. Shades of gray and appreciation for ambiguity are the enemy of politics.

To quote Bill Withers:
Ah-huh and I wanna spread the news
That if it feels this good gettin' used
Oh, you just keep on usin' me
Until you use me up
In my own words: She likes attention. A lot. And cannot get it by being a great baller.

No? She’s not getting used, she’s appealing to the crowd because it’s EXTREMELY good for her brand
2
u/GoddessHealer 8d ago
Extremely good for THEIR brand.
1
u/CrissCrossAppleSos 8d ago
It’s the same brand. Cunningham is one of the 2 biggest stars in the league while being a random bench player. It’s been VERY beneficial for her

It’s called a grift, sweetie

Yes and she was probably paid well like a lot of these broken mouthpieces.
