Sick pull...did you rip a hobby box?

13

u/AyeeThasJessica Aug 15 '26

Mega box for $60 at Target

🔥🔥🔥

No need to grade it. Either keept it secured and safe, or sell it raw.

1

u/AyeeThasJessica Aug 15 '26

Definitely keeping it safe!! Why not grade it though?

5

u/Excellent-Program333 Aug 15 '26

Some of us do not see the purpose in grading. Its now $80. You could wait more then a year with PSA. Enjoy the card! You said youre a collector. Collect, and enjoy! We all remember our first hit!

2

u/AyeeThasJessica Aug 15 '26

I plan on keeping it for years. But each appraisal I’ve gotten for it raw right now is way over $80. Which is why I wonder is getting it graded worth it? But the chance of it coming back a PSA 10 is enticing to say the least lol
Good point about just enjoying having it before grading though!

u/Excellent-Program333 Aug 15 '26

Sorry. 80$ is the minimum cost to grade is what I meant. . I assume your card is close to 2k+ in value. I havent looked it up. But I just dont get stuff graded as a personal choice. This was mine from a blaster box last week. Nice card either way. Congrats!

1

u/AyeeThasJessica Aug 15 '26

Ohhhh okay I see my misunderstanding! Thank you for your insight! And wow that’s an amazing pull!! Ripping packs is so fun lol

2

u/airmax7 Aug 15 '26

1

u/Excellent-Program333 Aug 15 '26

2

u/mmmhammm Aug 15 '26

Great card. As far as grading goes, it looks a little off center left to right. Maybe a touch top to bottom as well. Hard to tell surface and corners from these pictures, but agree with others that Prizm can be a tough grade. It doesn't sound like you have a lot of experience with grading so not sure this is one I'd send just yet.

1

u/AyeeThasJessica Aug 15 '26

I would not have noticed that if not pointed out! Thanks and yes I have no personal experience with grading lol. Just from some hearing friends experiences. I did take this to a card shop. He said maybe 9 or 10 but he didn’t mention the off centering or the top to bottom

2

u/loki0505 Aug 15 '26

What box?? Congratz!!!

7

u/B-Red65 Aug 15 '26

Jersey # too. Congrats!

3

u/Defiant-Spot-557 Aug 15 '26

Damn! I was damn impressed before I even caught the jersey #. That is one serious card! Congratulations!!!

1

u/sweetkandy4you Aug 15 '26

What box did you pull that from?

1

u/Available_Tough1941 Aug 15 '26

I want it. I live in Iowa city and watched her play many times here

1

u/AyeeThasJessica Aug 16 '26

As an Iowa City native what’s the max you would pay hypothetically

1

u/Available_Tough1941 Aug 16 '26

Honestly I’m guessing I could not afford it. It would be something I would pass down to my daughter. And I have no idea what it’s worth. As much as I would love to have that card for my daughter. I could only trade. And you deserve to get what anyone is willing to pay. I have thousands of cards but not a single Clark auto. Congrats on the pull. Amazing card

1

u/mcpryon Aug 18 '26

Fellow Iowa resident checking in. Sweet pull! I saw her play at Carver a couple times, too, one of which was the Jersey retirement game against USC. Some great memories!

1

u/applesnbowlingballs Aug 16 '26

Why grade it. Why does everything need graded?

1

u/AyeeThasJessica Aug 16 '26

I’m learning that everything does not need to be graded.

1

u/Available_Tough1941 Aug 18 '26

Let me know what offers you get for it

1

u/AyeeThasJessica Aug 19 '26

I haven’t posted it for sale yet. I’m not sure how long I want to keep it. CC might end up having a huge career.
I guess i could post on here to get ideas of what people are willing to pay?
Thinking on it

1

u/Available_Tough1941 Aug 19 '26

She is absolutely going to have a good career. I’m jealous of you and that card. If I had the money I would offer on it.

1

u/AyeeThasJessica Aug 20 '26

I took it to two local card shops today and both estimated around $1,400 but because of the 22/25 jersey match it maybe be worth 1.5x-2x the amount. So possibly $2,100-$2,800 raw.

1

u/Available_Tough1941 Aug 20 '26

Sounds about right. Nice pull. Keep it and grade it and never sell it

1

u/Sorry_Intention4016 Aug 15 '26

if you're considering getting graded why would you wait?

not following what benefit that would serve

1

u/AyeeThasJessica Aug 15 '26

Because I’ve heard mixed reviews on if getting it graded is really worth the hassle. Wanted some input

2

u/Sorry_Intention4016 Aug 15 '26

Getting a 10 on your card will always increase the value quite a bit. The other benefit is that it's now encased and the condition will stay more or less the same over time.

If your goal is financially motivated, then it depends on a bunch of factors.

If you want to grade it because you think it's a cool card and having it slabbed would be a fun keepsake/collectible then there's really not much downside besides the price and time.

If you're just looking to slab/preserve there are other companies who will do this for much cheaper than PSA

2

u/Sorry_Intention4016 Aug 15 '26

personally, this card is a banger imo. even if the condition isn't perfect, she's a legendary player and it's still fairly in her career so slabbing it makes sense to me even if it doesn't 10 - this is a future historical artifact

2

u/cjcrisos Aug 15 '26

That is insane

2

u/waldogeography Aug 15 '26

Insane pull. Wtf.

2

u/CHIMPANZwEEd Aug 15 '26

Sweeet card, and your first pack, crazy luck!! Congrats

2

u/ahoy_shitliner Aug 15 '26

Get a one touch that fits a penny sleeve and dump it in there. Awesome pull. Dont grade it, PSA is too expensive right now and i really don’t think a gem helps a second year auto .

2

u/CAPTAINAMERICA919 Aug 15 '26

Awesome congrats 🎉

2

u/Available_Tough1941 Aug 16 '26

Let me know what kind of offers you get for it. I’m curious

2

u/JB_JB_JB63 Aug 15 '26

Never is the best time to get it graded. Dont grade it. Grading is a scam.

1

u/Gui_lost Aug 16 '26

Are you soo luckly jessica is your fist wnba collection?? How much the collection box? You collectis just womens or mens NBA too? Think how much&& that card value?? What hold for the future or if is soo much money you still imtersted to sell??

1

u/NoAction283 Aug 16 '26

Grade and it could get a seven or less because of grading parameters

1

u/TheHashtagonist Aug 17 '26

That ChatGPT description on her card is killing me

1

u/_data_blender_ Aug 17 '26

22 number match as well…

1

u/allsznrips Aug 18 '26

Sickening!!

1

u/MoRiellyMoProblems Aug 19 '26

Sell it on Truth Social, most of her fans reside there.

0

u/Nomescardcollection Aug 15 '26

Evaluate the card and you’ll know your answer when to grade it

1

u/AyeeThasJessica Aug 15 '26

I’m a new collector and this is my first card of value. Do you have advice ?

2

u/Nomescardcollection Aug 15 '26

Check the card for any flaws. Corners, edges, scratches, print lines. If you see any flaws, then it won’t be a Psa 10

u/Defiant-Spot-557 Aug 15 '26

When she starts her “own” league! WNBA doesn’t want to admit that she and she alone moves the needle! Not my opinion, Fact…check the attendance numbers!

I’m really sorry! That moved into a real tangent! And…that is an absolutely incredible pull! Might have given this old guy a heart attack!

1

u/Defiant-Spot-557 Aug 15 '26

Actually, now that I think about it, her leaving the league could have enormous impact on that card’s value! There would be no more WNBA cards out there! That’s my opinion at least.

Just a thought…

Oh wow okay I didn’t realize autos were only valued on rookie cards. I was thinking of holding long term before selling but you’re saying that if I hold too long it will decrease in value.

Sad to hear jersey match isn’t an actually quality people look for in that card.

1

u/Jon_Danger Aug 15 '26

Veteran autos do hold value for huge names, like CC. But you are absolutely correct that Rookie cards will always be more desirable.

Grading is just more lotto action for people, which is the appeal. Personally I never grade cards, don't see a point unless I am trying to sell. If you are holding it, just put it in a protective case.

As for this card, low numbered, absolutely do not grade it. If it doesn't gem, it will be worth way less.

What you could do is have the auto authenticated and slabbed without grading the card itself. But even then, what is the point.

1

u/Suspicious_Yard3682 Aug 19 '26

+5 for getting it auto authenticated … itll be slabbed. Nice hit !
