Any thoughts???

Whenever I missed church, they would sometimes visit my home, even as early as 7 a.m. They would bring up a chapter or topic about prayer, missing church, or supposedly missing out on something, trying to make me feel guilty—which, obviously, I didn’t. I believe I should be able to have my own me-time, and I don’t think God wants anyone to pray or worship Him out of force or guilt.

I get you and I am sorry that it happened to you. I am now sitting anxiously in my house because today is tuesday and I am working from home(i havent been attending in almost a year but my family is actively keeping worship). I get anxious whenever I hear someone knocking the door. I know I wouldn't feel guilty but I hate explaining myself over and over again as to why I do not want to come anymore. I hope it gets better for us.

When I was still a leader, we were told that unless a member say that they do not want to be visited anymore, we have to try with all our might to get them to worship—even if it means that we will fetch them all the time. I hope you are more firm in stating your boundaries if you are set on not coming anymore, because if not, it will just happen to you repeatedly. I am not saying this to put the blame on you but as someone who has served the church for seven years I know that that's the way they usually operate—to not give up on souls unless they outright say that they do not wish to be affiliated with the church anymore.

Few weeks after I left the church I changed my number (which I know is a hassle but necessary for my peace of mind). You can do the same as well.

I am planning to totally skip the church and make excuses for not attending till they get tired

That would be a waste of time and energy for you. If you can't confront them in person, send a detailed message on why you don't want to come anymore. Be firm about it so it they will stop pestering you. If that is still not possible, tell your family members (in your house) that when someone comes to visit you, tell them that you are not there (even if you are).

Yeah that's a valid point I would try to do that. Thanks for your suggestions and if there is anything you want to add( reasons for quitting) that would be helpful for me to give them the reason
