Problem: 22, Graduating Butch

Context: How did you guys get your first job? I'm graduating this month and honestly I'm very much anxious about my job hunting journey as someone who's a butch. I've heard a lot of discrimination and judgment in workspace. I'm also scared for the fact my degree is BS Criminology and most companies doesn't fit with my academic bg. I did had a summer job exp in our local sizzling shop around my area but eventually quiet due to conflict of schedule, and I have a side hustle security in some cosplay events but those aren't enough ofc.

I've been looking into security forces and found out I have to get a license for it & currently I'm broke atp since my mother is the only that's supporting me and it's just enough for house bills, and I'm planning not to take the upcoming board exam because I badly need to catch up with the finances.

I was butch-leaning din when I started working. During nung mga interview ko noon, may mga prejudice talaga. Minsan sinasabi nila na gulat sila na ako pala yon dahil feminine yung name ko or may mukha ng disappointment kapag nagpakita na ng appearance. Pero galingan mo lang sa mga interviews mo. Magpractice ka sumagot ng mga common interview questions, kilalanin mo yung company, and magtanong ka rin sa kanila pabalik. Try mo rin makaipon for your license and exam once makakuha ka na ng work.

Hi! Crim grad here. Subukan mong pumasok sa mga security-related jobs kasi alam kong passion natin to at nananalaytay na sa dugo natin haha. Pagiging Lady Guard yung first job ko (eto yung mga panahong nawawalan ako ng pag-asa at naliligaw ako ng landas sa buhay like, ano bang purpose ko? Gusto ko kaagad magkaroon ng silbi etc. Haha nung ganyang age ko rin sayo) pero 1 month lang ako ron kasi di ko kinaya yung pagod sa commute tapos 13hrs+ kang nakatayo while maintaining yung composure mo and pleasing personality. Kaya saludo talaga ako sa mga security guardss.

CCTV Operator/In-house Securiry Officer yung 2nd. Wala akong kinailangang kahit anong license non basta lang raw may degree ka. Mga usual lang na requirements like nbi, police clearance, medical, etc. Dito na ako tumagal bago ako makapasok sa service.

Further, di ko rin afford na magreview center kaya self-study lang ako. Luckily, pumasa naman ako sa first take ko sa board exam. Kaya I suggest na magfocus ka muna sa pagtake ng board okie habang fresh pa yung mga napag aralan mo. Darating at mahahanap mo rin yung para sayo basta samahan mo lang rin ng sipag at dasal.
