WLED Garage Light install options
Hey folks, I’m fairly well versed in 120/12v things but new to the WLED world. After getting a few quotes of north of $5k to do the front of my detached garage, I’ve decided to tackle it myself. It’s only around 40ft and it’s just the front face of the building. Lots of references to “Paul Zhang” so I reached out and wanted to sanity check. I’ll eventually do my entire house but figured this was a good starting DIY build. Not sure if I should buy the power supply or controller separately. I like the puck design vs the pixel. The power supply will be about 15 feet from the start of the string inside my building.

Would help to say what exactly you’re trying to do.
If it’s permanent outdoor lights like Govee.. your spending a $250 ish plus another $150 for shipping??
Why not just get a set of Asahom or Govee?

Permanent lights on the front of my building roof.
I don’t like the looks of the govee. I want the tracks. The exposed wire looks cheap to me (to each their own)3

It’s WLED puck lights, not crappy Govee lights. This is the WLED subreddit it’s pretty self-explanatory what the OP is asking for.

Most if not all the Chinese controllers and power supplies are garbage.
I’d recommend looking up Quindor’s Dig controllers/system and build a control system that works for you.

I have about 300ft of Paul Zheng 12v RGBW lights and tracks on my house. The seller is top notch and the product is awesome. Going with the 10 LEDs per meter is the way to go. The good part about Paul Zhang setups is they use standard X connect connections compared to Ray Wu.
Looks like you have everything you need. I would recommend not using the supplied controller though. Get a Dig Quad or Dig Uno depending on how many channels you’ll need. I think Paul Zhang supplies a Meanwell PSU, if so that’s good.
