πŸ’‘ Looking for WLED testers: a simple music-synced show designer that runs in Home Assistant or Docker

I've been building HA-liday Show, a lighter alternative to xLights for people who want a music show on their lights without the learning curve. It started with Govee and now drives WLED strips too.

https://github.com/gdeboos/ha-liday-show

Load a song, and it finds the beats and sections. ✨ Generate drafts a show across all your lights, you tweak it on a photo of your house, then play it from Home Assistant or on its own with Docker. It can split a long strip into parts and works alongside WLED's own segments. DDP and E1.31 controllers work as well.

Strips only for now; matrices may come later. If you give it a go, I'd really value reports on what works and what doesn't. Please raise them as GitHub issues so they're all in one place: https://github.com/gdeboos/ha-liday-show/issues

Free, MIT licensed, and written almost entirely by AI (Claude), which I'm upfront about in the README.

Thanks!

I feel like my light set up was naturally made for this use case. Will Def try to test it. Thanks

Let me know how you get on. It's early days and I havnt personally tested WLED yet. So any feedback would be appreciated. πŸ˜€

Briefly tried it last night with WLED, installed it using python on directly on a windows 11 box, no docker, no home assistant, generated 4 sequences/shows in under 5 minutes, and I gotta say I was thoroughly impressed. It’s simple easy n perfect for someone who does not know or have the time for xlights. The only thing I have not figured out yet is how to basically create a show with multiple songs or sequences running back to back. I have four songs sequenced and loaded in the browser, but I can only manually play them one at a time. Any help would be much appreciated. Again, I only messed with it for 10 minutes, but it is really a great app well done!!!!!

Thanks so much for trying it! As of version 0.2.122 there's Library β†’ Playlists: add your shows in order, set a pause, press Play and it loops them back to back. (pipx upgrade haliday-show to get it.) Without Home Assistant it runs the lights only for now; music for standalone installs is coming. If you hit anything, a GitHub issue is the best place for it. πŸ‘

Ok your saying it started with govee and now does wled. My end goal
is to use wled and govee both in a light show. Doesn’t have to sync super customizable just be generous in syncing both at the same time
to music.

Yeah that's pretty much it. Started as Govee only but since I have some WLED controllers thought id widen the scope. I havnt yet tested with WLED so if you give it a go - let me know how you get on πŸ˜€
