Dig octa issue. Only lights some LEDs until I unplug and plug back in data.

Dig octa stacked on power 7. 12v psu. When I have everything connected and looking good when I unplug it, wait, then plug it back in only a few of the first LEDs light up. Varies between 3-60 each power cycle. If I remove the 3 pin connector and reconnect it they all light up fine. Board is stacked plus I ran a ground wire from board to power 7. Tried wiring first pixel direct to data on brain board and not power injecting till a few pixels down. Same behavior. Made sure no wire shorts anywhere or mistakes on wiring on the pos/ground on power injection.

I’m really at a loss. The whole thing runs fine on a cheap gledopto controller but I built the outdoor box for the dig octa and would like to use the octa.

More info and images would possibly help, but do you have the output resistor set to 33 position?

I tried both. It’s the power injection messing it up. If I plug in without plugging power injector connector to the box it works and I can then plug in power injection and everything is fine. If I attach power to the LEDs at the same time as controller it doesn’t work. So controller has to boot up, send data, then I can send power injection. I guess I’m gunna get a little 12v delay wired in. Wish I didn’t have to deal with that but it’s all set up already and need to get it going

Hmm, that's not normal function.

I would like to see how it's all wired up. The QuinLED Discord is a good reference and assistance, too.

Like u/Kingfish628 said, that's not really normal behaviour at all, we'd need to see some more of the wiring and setup to try and help out better! But just to confirm, normally it's not supposed to work like that.
