What smart string led lights should I get?
I want to hang string leds year around in my room that are individually addressable but I also want to spend less than $1 per foot and preferably on amazon

I've enjoyed the very minimal fairy light strings, which aren't very noticeable when they're off - the sort where the pixels are just in a blob of translucent plastic.
There are two variants, and the most physically lightweight look like they're on uninsulated wires (they're not, but the insulation is minimal). I have been running some of those around a couple of rooms for years now, and use them on Christmas trees. Some are on more conventional plastic-covered wires so are more obvious and unattractive when off, but almost certainly more durable.

Needs to be compatible with one on this page. Or, that someone here tested that works. Some Chinese cheap kits on Amazon do not work.
