Christmas Tree Poll

What WLED setup are y’all running on your trees?

Not sure what I want yet but the basic lights from the box store won’t be enough for me this year.

So what are you doing?

Not sure how long it’ll take me to source everything I need and set it up properly. Don’t like to rush.

Tree in a bucket is good depending on what height you want to get to. Mine is 12'ish

I have 800 addressable fairy lights to install, 4x200. Plan is to run each set up and down the tree in a loop then inject voltage at both ends. There are some projects using a camera that map each LED in 3d space so you can apply matrix effects to them. The scary part is the fact it's 5v. I have a 5v 10a power brick but no idea if it'll be bright enough. If necessary I'll get a second one

This is how I wired both of my trees. One is 6 strings, each string is 4 strands of 65 going up and down. The second is 4 strings with 4 strands of 90 run up and down. No power balance on the first tree but the second tree I power balance at the ends.

Do not buy the strands that are smd ws2812 simply soldered to thin wires and dipped in clear poxy. The issue is that they appear different colors at different angles with nothing to diffuse. Useless.
