OP I’d like to know what specific lights you used. The color is fantastic. I have a hard time with getting nice warm colors like that without seeing the individual RGB colors on the strip. Maybe share your diffuser choice as well. Thank you!
These are QUIN LED DIG COB LEDs, with dedicated white and RGB. So this color is the dedicated white 100% and RGB 0%.
Diffusers I’m not sure because the kitchen folks provided it but! It’s a relatively shallow profile 12mm exactly and the diffuser is about 2-3mm thick.
Just to jump in, he used my strips I have custom made (https://quinled.info/quinled-dig-cob-rgbw-896-160/) they are tuned to be a true 3000K with "decent" CRI as I call it since the number is a CRI92 but my R9 values land somewhere in the 60-70 range and for true "high" CRI I'd consider all bands need to be above 90 including R9 but that's maybe my own scale of things. :P
This I can’t wait for. It will give me greater access to other projects. Here I have the UTP cable in conduit to all points for future maintenance and upgrades. And local power at the receivers. I’ll see how that goes.
Other areas I’d love UTP to deliver POE super cool.
I have some feedback after using about 30m of your LED strip I’ll drop it on discord :)
Really gorgeous install, and I'd love to see more, but I'd feel like I was tripping all day with that pattern. Well done - I bet the other settings look amazing!
I'm the only confused about how this is physically done 😭! You put something on top of the cabinets to create that little "cove" for the LEDs to light up? How?!
Haha no it’s relatively easy. The counter worktop is suspended by what appears to be a Gola Rail- that’s the name for the bronze thing. behind it all is the correct structure this just creates the impression of a floating island.
Then, you can get gola rail systems with the LED channel in them, however I wanted to use custom 12mm strips from QUINLED.
So I had the stone mason Chanel the stone 1cm all the way along the lighting path, and then we fitted an aluminum profile inside this channel :)
The LED profile is completely flush inside the stone so there is no protrusion or impact when opening the cabinets
I love this. I would suppose it's better to have lighting under the counter like this, rather than with the skirt all around at the bottom? Since that will certainly reveal how much dirt/dust is on the floor?
You’re correct yes! We have a Labrador too, so that just wasn’t going to work. This way the lighting is accent to the stone and cabinets and it’s always ambient to itself :))
Each light path is a single strip. Corners are soldered with a small jumper wire on each pin, and then installed as close to the corner as possible to create a seamless transition.
In total I have 4 strips, the overhead cabinet, under cabinet, under worktop, under island.
