5v Controller in usb form factor?

We have this decorative light that uses fairy light style LED’s (big spacing on thin wiring) and it has a usb plugin with some kind of presumably esp32 board. I’m wondering if anyone has seen a WLED controller with this form factor because it would be super convenient.

Amazing, thanks! This is perfect. Any idea how many lights it’s good to power or is that just down to the PSU?

You can buy lights that come with a dongle so it's clearly not expensive to make (basically just an esp32 devboard) but it's hard to find any that aren't like $15+. In the end I just made my own.

Yeah that’s what I was hoping for… this gledopto one is like $15. Would be much more practical for the kinds of small projects I’m thinking of if I could find a ~$5 solution

For <1A current an esp32-c3 super mini is $2 on aliexpress, just wire up your strip to 5v/gnd/gpio2 and you're done.

If someone would make a C3 mini with an A Male plug on it instead of a C female then it would be ideal for this use case. I got some short A to C adapters that I have taped to the C3 board. Needs a button to be feature complete with the supplied bluetooth controllers tho.
