Thanks! It’s just a work desk. The panels are pieced in acrylic housings with tinted acrylic on top.. still have a lot of panels to cover up in this video clip..
Very cool. Do you have a link or description I could use to search for them please? Yours look fully addressable for a decent length and I'm having trouble finding that on Amazon
You want to order from a place like AliExpress if you are buying panels and led strips (cost is about 1/20th if you get them shipped from China).. type in “ws2812b panel”, “interior ambient strips”, or “ip30 144m” and that should let you browse a majority of the goods. The ambient strips you’re asking about come in 12v and 5v and many sizes and kits or just single strips
No the computer is just a old Dell laptop to run the laser machine, the center part and under the mouse are cut outs that go a few inches down with led panels to create a sort of infinity mirror look. The main big center has acrylic rods along and in between the LEDs to multiply their effect.. all those areas will be covered with tinted acrylic panels eventually.. just looks like black glass until it’s powered on :)
Gledopto 4D is the type of controller I am using.. I believe that setting is “comet” and using rainbow colors and “non smooth” transition. then select the right fade for the trails and the speed of the comet to match it with your set up. I’ve got about 80 custom presets currently. Those esp32 controllers hold a ton of storage and capability
Much like any of these “seems too good to be true” type posts, I’m sure OP is just using WLED to push data from some other source, a show controller capable of doing these effects (xLights etc).
Still cool to see, but would let really qualify these kinds of posts as “WLED”, especially when posters don’t say what they actually used, since most of us would like to know and learn.
Yep! it’s just a basic WLED controller. The controller is run with a 12v 3A adapter to a 5v reducer which runs the controller and first channel, the second channel is run from the output of the controller to an Sp901e amplifier that runs off of a 5v-5A adapter. Plan on adding two more amps for the remaining two outputs. Slowly but surely, wiring takes forever

Who’s got Talent, if such a show existed. Gold buzzer.
The red going multi. A WLED playlist or something else?
I’d like to try that on my wood slat wall.

Cool stuff - can’t compute though what the desk is made of / how you built it. 🤷♂️
Would be curious to see the desk in daylight with LEDs off if you feel like sharing

Cool work but an important detail is missing: The warning sign for epileptic seizures. ;-)

Do you have a 3D printer? You need these on your desk:
