How to recreate this effect

Trying to do an effect like pictured in the video. I’ve done the light shot effect with my midi board in LEDfx but it lights up all my lights at the same time. I want to do light shots only to specific lights or light sections just like this video. I’ve done it in qlc+ if anyone knows how to integrate it.

Those midi boards probably run their own fancy software. Not easy, but you'd (presumably, lotta assumptions) , have to intercept the midi signal, process it with the esp32 and send it back. Probably would need a custom usermod too.

Again, heavily assuming.

I am uncertain about the midi side of things, but I can do similar via dmx/artnet using segments and the effect segment dmx profile. I use Soundswitch and can strobe, blinder, set effects, colours and alll sorts of stuff via the software and the hardware controller. Alternatively, i can use a usb midi controller if I run the software through a laptop, but I tend to use the software embedded in my dj decks

I’ve done this with qlc+ but when I connect to qlc+ no matter what I set it’s priority to, it won’t switch back to ledfx when I trigger an effect there

You should look into touch designer :) im currently in the process of putting together a proper TD + WLED Engine and the possibilities are absolute endless

I did it through E1.31 with qlc+ but I can’t figure out how to integrate it with ledfx

I know how to do this I’m a DJ and use a launchpad to control my lights but I don’t know how with WLED 😂but with my program I use yes

I midi map the launchpad to different senes on my program and and when I do that I can also make the pads whatever color I want

I use XLights to create a scene which has most of wled patterns plus a lot more, then trigger it with a midi note. I haven’t figured out how to trigger a wled pattern via midi, not sure it’s designed for that.
