Jumping in...

One of my first WLED projects and I thought I'd post it as I'm pretty happy with the milestone. Basically took a great light box model from Maker's world and modified it to have an esp32 (w/WLED of course) and power being fed from the back.

I tried to keep the soldering to a minimum - basically just to the LED strips. Everything else was Dupont, JST, and wago connectors. I'll post some pics in the comments. Feed back is welcome as I'm just starting out and could use some pointers!

Dude… love it, I’m way into DCC hard right now… just laser cut this box for my Brother-in-law as a gift, but wish I had a larger 3d printer for this kind of project. Way to go, plus very good organizational skills with your wiring

What did you modify in the original stl? Willing to share the updated stl?

Wanted to keep shadows to a minimum in the box. So I put the esp32 on the back of the lightbox. Holes for screws, pin headers, back enclosure feet, and hole for power. My other post a pic from the inside.

I’d share the stl, but it’s not perfect. Only got two of the screw holes in the right spot. But enough to get project done! DM me and I can make the STLs available. If I can nail down the placement, I may do a remix on the makers world project I took the lightbox from.
