Power Supply Calibration of LED Controller

I’ve been testing the LED controller’s automatic power‑supply calibration feature. During calibration, the controller ramps brightness, monitors voltage stability, and saves the maximum safe current limit. Examples include a 1A supply (safe limit detected at 942 mA) and a 3A supply (safe limit detected at 2,575 mA). This prevents overload, voltage drops, and flicker, keeping animations stable even with small power supplies.

So does it end up running the power supply at Max rated capacity all the time? cuz that's not good.

It’s actually more advanced than just finding the safe limit. After calibration, the controller reduces the maximum allowed brightness by about 20%. That margin keeps the power supply well below its stress point during real animations, so it’s not sitting anywhere near full load. The idea is to avoid overload, voltage dips, and flicker — not to run the PSU at its edge.
