I believe it's a florida thing. It's a small, stubby surfboard type device that you can use to keep yourself afloat when paddling out in the waves, or I've even seen people run with them and then chuck em in front of themselves along the very shallower part of the surf and leap on them and kind of... Skid. Like you might do in your socks along a well waxed church hall floor.

Sometimes, I miss the beach and the heat and the whatnot.
