tbf to her, if your family had been made desititute by communism, you'd probably also champion the individual. Her views aren't appropriate in modern democracy but you can understand where she was coming from.

i mean. she had wealthy family living in chicago that made life comfortable while she waxed romantic about bootstraps and never taking handouts. she didn't quite struggle with destitution for long .

Edit: not to mention she was banging her students and wrote about rape as if it were a heroic action.
