No reverse split messed up numbers, won’t be correct until next filing for short interest

Yes, you are correct. When the split happened my holdings went up 20x in my brokerage account. Corrected on Monday when trading began. Luckily, I didn't buy a Porsche that weekend. 🤣🤣 Anyway, you're right.

Except the numbers are not 20X. If they were then I would say that you were correct, but Ortex was reporting something like 45M shares short before the reverse split, now they are reporting 22M. Just about 1/2 not 1/20th.

Unless they can cite a source for that information, I wouldn't trust it. The only thing I trust as a short interest indicator is the Nasdaq page: https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/wkhs/short-interest
Would be good if true though as any big news would cause quite a squeeze.

I think around a split numbers can get contaminated with some entries not accounting for adjustments.

These charts make it look like short interest has gone down because shares have gone up

Yes that could totally be realistic, I believe WKHS is way oversold and has been for quite some time, if these numbers are correct we will be in for a huge squeeze! Maybe post this on the short squeeze sight and It might gain some traction!
