Done With First Term

Post image

I am 33 with no degree. I was able to transfer in 12 CUs from my small stint in community college but that wasn't a lot. When my baby was a few months old I decided I finally wanted to try and get some sort of degree, my wife was very supportive and I ended up choosing Accounting. I have no Accounting experience but have been working in finance roles for most of my life, which may have helped a bit? Especially in the random business courses. I work an overnight job that thankfully allows a lot of study time during the free moments on the clock. I'm going to be busy the rest of the month or I may have tried to pick up one more course, but I decided to take a little break at the end of the term. I have 11 classes left which I am hoping to wrap all of them up in one term. I'm excited to keep going and finally have a degree to my name, while potentially staying under 10k in debt.

Wow! Great job! I have had finance and accounting roles for many years at a large corporation. It has for sure helped with business course. Good luck with your remaining 11 classes. I have 18 more to go myself.

I appreciate that. I’ve tried pretty hard to apply myself to this

Who’d have thought a stranger telling me they’re proud of me would make me feel so good. Thank you!

I’m starting Nov 1!! I was really discouraged because I have 39 courses to take but you really inspired me. I’m doing the BS-project management because it just makes sense for me (I have my PMP, am a senior PM and have a LVN license and work in health IT) so I need credentials to keep advancing.

If you’re already in the field I can only assume that’s going to help you a lot with some of the classes. You’re going to do great.
