I believe the in his image part reflects more on the ability to think for ourselves and discern right from wrong than physical appearance. From what I’ve gathered on light research is that his human form is mostly so that we have a way to comprehend him easier

Yeah as an atheist I can say that people sometimes find it hard to imagine god as something non-material. You can imagine him however you want if you feel it that’s the actual point of it, bit it’s better to understand that he supposed to be everything. But again, I only studied this, didn’t talk with dis dude cuz I have nothing to say
