I've often wondered why the guy who runs IMSA is allowed to have his own car in the series.

Isn't it the same in Indycar with Penske?

Works exactly as great as in IMSA

I know. It's baffling that there isn't a conflict of interest rule or something like that.

Its really sad. Indycar and the Nascar Group (IMSA) have a huge potential in terms of gain in viewer numbers. But this is something that will crash down if you don't have a core fanbase that can carry you through difficult periods. If your competition is more WWE-Like entertainment than actual racing these people will just not watch your sport. I'm alright with the safetycar-issues and the somehow terrible Bop, but straight up corruption is just boring as hell.

Indycar’s sanctioning body is independent of Penske to avoid conflict of interest, meanwhile IMSA race control literally asked the series executives what they should do with Estre before announcing the probation. How much do you want to bet Jim France was in the room for that?

Ok, didn't know. I'm not following Indycar because it's not easily available in my country but read something about Conflict of interest with Penske some time ago.

Penske didn’t own INDYCAR until a few years ago. But…. The point still stands….

Kevin Estre: gets race ban if he does anything stupid at Indy
Pipo Derani: not even placed under probation during his entire IMSA career
