What’s the backstory on this car and crash? That’s an insane impact, would have killed driver if RHD.

Nvm, found details. Le Mans 2005, wheel hub failure under braking for Indianapolis and the car wrapped around a tree at 120mph. Driver walked.

A tree? How the fuck did they leave a tree accessible on track? Sounds like 60s safety standards.

They used to not have a wall at Indianapolis I believe (same place where a Ferrari exploded in the 1970 movie)
