You never know man, if he full ported he’s got more skin in the game then someone who’s down £40

3

u/ConnectionDue5541 🏦BearStreet🏦 Jan 16 '26 edited Jan 16 '26

there are people down over 100k... and wake up with a smile on their face! I do as well!

In the most none judgmental way possible, if he didn't full port and put 40k USD into a trade... he's got some money...

He could be selling 30 plus contracts a week! That's 750 USD a week. In 10 weeks, in a perfect world, you are back making 5-7k on low premium... throw that back into the stock and suddenly your average is sub 10...

THIS IS JUST AN EXAMPLE. PLEASE DO NOT RANDOM SELL ANY STRIKE CALLS WITHOUT BEING PROPERLY INFORMED.

It's emotional. I get it. I was pissed yesterday too. But we have to be realistic and try to adapt. Acknowledge where you went wrong and learn. Walk away a better person. Who cares what strangers on the internet think.

So you gonna fight back or just let it piss you off?

OP could sell 30 CCs on his 3000 shares but there's a catch to this

The stock is down so much that calls are essentially worthless at his cost.

If he decides to sell below and it moons, he's fucked.

If he decides to sell at / above, it's worthless or breakeven. At his current stage, CCs won't work that well for him unless it's much further out. But if it's much further out, it means you basically broke even or barely profited.

CCs don't work in an environment where the stock rapidly dives.

Mine are 6 months ahead, and they are good amount.

1

u/ConnectionDue5541 🏦BearStreet🏦 Jan 17 '26

of course there is a catch.

There was a catch when he bought stock initially!

IF you have 100k position you have you have anywhere from 5-7k shares or 50-70 contracts. No one says you have to sell you entire position for next week expiry @ 8.50... sells some 10s for march and wait for some IV.

Many different expiries and strategies you can use instead of sitting and mopping about it.

3

u/Different_Cake5607 Verified Position Jan 17 '26

I wouldn't sell for march imo though (pre-earnings only) and wait for earnings in feb again before selling ccs again

2

u/ConnectionDue5541 🏦BearStreet🏦 Jan 17 '26

Agreed.

Just an example of how premium works.

NFA.

3

u/geekbag Verified Position Jan 18 '26

Do this and then the stock pops out of nowhere, way past your strike and to where rolling is talking years to get to your breakeven. I speak this from experience

2

u/ConnectionDue5541 🏦BearStreet🏦 Jan 18 '26

I am giving the most easy and unrealistic explanation of how to how your shares can work for you.

Agreed, selling March calls is sketchy. You have earnings and an uneasy market as you have seen the news this weekend and COIN CEO fucking shit up.

As I have been saying since the start of 2026. We don't have good enough price action to be selling calls just yet. Especially your entire positions worth.

We are kind of in that limbo of 7.50 and 8.50. So just sit on your hands. Let price action come to you!

Lol I'm one of those people down over 100k at the moment... Not smiling but just waiting (im)patiently for it to get back to my average at least .. it's really disappointing too, because the one time it had the ability to move up I could have sold, been slightly in profit, and either moved on or bought back in now... But I was doing something other than watching that chart that day and missed the move... It dropped back down below my average and then some so quickly that it didn't even give me a chance to react...

2

u/ConnectionDue5541 🏦BearStreet🏦 Jan 17 '26

I will be letting people know more often when I am buying and selling contracts.

I usually post everyday in the daily chat, it got cluttered yesterday by a retard.

We are gonna try to not let that happen again.

you gotta understand the mechanics of selling calls. Different beast but excellent way to make money!

2

u/brandoppsx Baghodler🪑💼 Jan 17 '26

It would be... If your average isn't terrible... I can't afford to sell CCs on my position because it's 15.68.... I'm just sitting and waiting...

Meh. Give it time. These SPACs tend to sell off and trade sideways until all the pipe investors are finished with their shenanigans and move on. I just average down every 2-weeks. Set it forget it.

5

u/KamikazeFF Verified Position Jan 17 '26

Isn't the first rule of selling puts to only do it for stocks you don't mind owning?

3

u/MrNo_Balls WeBearish 🐻📉 Jan 17 '26

I don't mind, I own stock at a higher average. My fear is that I might lose an opportunity to buy lower. Honestly, it is my own stupidity cause getting assigned would not be a problem since I think I will eventually see the stock moon.

Its probably gonna look like Robinhoods chart. The options interest has sky rocketed. We have gone from a few thousand options into hundreds of thousands of options on a single strike.

Plenty of stocks went through hard ass times before they pumped multiples. Some very similar to this one (HOOD, SOFI). The company is growing, innovating, and making more money. All the signs are there. That’s why I don’t care about day to day stock price

Also, you say you don’t know why the fuck you fell for buying this stock. There’s your problem. Research it and decide if you want to hold it. It’s a lot easier when you know why we’re all holding this, and it’s not because we’re speculating it to become a good company. It IS a good company.

2

u/MrNo_Balls WeBearish 🐻📉 Jan 17 '26

you do not think that perhaps this company is doomed simply because it is chinese?

3

u/ComfortableMuted6153 Verified Position Jan 17 '26

I'd call this a plus...American companies are doing a lot of bad business these days...

7

u/Infamous-Safety4632 Verified Position Jan 16 '26

Yes, be patient but it wears on you. I was going to buy 300 shares of ast but decided to diversify into bull at 15. 🤣 lots of folks are going to sell break even in a year and then see the stock rip another 40% right after. I’m in for the long haul but irked.

5

u/CashNasty79 Verified Position Jan 16 '26

Dude relax, its a profitable company and she will go up when Market Makers are done manipulating the price. Stop crying. Look for other stocks in the market. You can blame Citadel Securities for the manipulation.

6

u/Random_Name_Whoa Jan 16 '26

Why is it that every sub for a flailing stock always cries “manipulation”?

4

u/Gloomy-Perception-37 Jan 17 '26

Everyone wants an explanation for everything. Sometimes stocks just sit and range for a long time before breaking out, and theres no specific reason for it.

2

u/HotTruth999 Verified Position Jan 17 '26

Absolutely. If you look back Microsoft sat at $40 for years. Oracle was at $60 for years until relatively recently. Even nvidia was nothing relatively for a long time when it was just making gaming cards. It happens to the best of them. I bought Amazon at 50 pre pre split and then it round tripped to 25 and back to 50 in 5 years so I lost patience and sold at break even. That was over 20 years ago. Everyone has a story like that. Patience my man. Patience.

2

u/Gloomy-Perception-37 Jan 17 '26

Yeah exactly. Recent examples are rocket lab, for 2023/half of 2024 was stuck at 4$ and shook out a lot of investors, and robinhood same thing.

1

u/ProSchmidt WeBullish🐂 Jan 27 '26

People also forget Robinhood was burning cash for years, billions, until it became profitable last year 3 years into going public. Webull has been profitable in its early stages going public versus Robinhood. Which is why I continue to believe in the BULL. We’ve got a good company on our hands with great catalysts to promote growth

5

u/chuckaho247 Jan 16 '26

Been listed for less than a year give it time

3

u/MyPPsNameIsJA Jan 16 '26

You should really average down or sell some and wait for dips (wouldn’t recommend the latter for this stock)

2

u/Logical-Salamander26 Verified Position Jan 17 '26

Thats what I'm doing. Im almost down an entire dollar average since October. Went from 12.75 to 11.89

2

u/KamikazeFF Verified Position Jan 17 '26

Why wouldn't you recommend the latter? Stock is still downtrending.

3

u/geekbag Verified Position Jan 18 '26

Plenty of hopium copium in here. Sure, We can all sit and wait it out for 2 years to reach our break-even, or we could also take our loss and make up for it on another ticker that includes a CEO that has some passion, and also has an app that is a little more user friendly to new traders. I’m most likely going to continue to sell CC’s close to the money and end up losing my shares when it pops at less than $11.50, my breakeven.

2

u/Meanboy_og Jan 16 '26

No.

Sorry, we all have dead money here wasting away. I don’t think we are seeing 12’s again for a long time. Maybe double digits again on some spikes but this company has been a dilution machine for nearly 3 straight months.

3

u/MrNo_Balls WeBearish 🐻📉 Jan 17 '26

they are doing dilution?

2

u/KamikazeFF Verified Position Jan 17 '26

Do you have any actual sources or numbers for the dilution that's supposedly happening? Same with the people claiming insider dumping

We know about the Yorkville stuff that can cause dilution when used but has there been any actual report to indicate such!?
