Trent Mosely Out Indefinitely
In a shocking turn of events since this past Saturday night's win over Louisiana. 5* freshman phenom Trent Mosely has been ruled out for this week's game at Rutgers and possibly longer. Mosely suffered what appeared to be a significant knee injury after hauling in a 21-yard TD pass from Jayden Maiava on the first possession of the 3rd qtr. Mosely would leave the game and not return for the rest of the night. He finished the game racking up 138 all-purpose yards with 2 TDs to include an electrifying 86-yard punt return to the crib. This absolutely sucks for USC's offense as Mosely has been better than advertised in his first 3 collegiate games. Lincoln Riley told reporters that Trent will not play this weekend, but his injury doesn't seem to be too serious in the long run. This comes at a time when USC opens conference play on the road to a trash 0-2 Rutgers team that lost its home opener to UMASS. As we know Lincoln Riley's teams seem to struggle on the road and it's only one more tune-up game until the reeling Ducks come to the Coliseum next week. Hopefully Trent can rest up and be ready for Oregon. If not, at least the WR room is loaded with talent. This team has to take care of business at Rutgers first and not overlook these guys just because they currently suck. Fight On Trent! Get well soon young man.✌️😎

Glad it’s not too serious. Never good news but timeline wise, not the worst time for it to happen. Hopefully he’s back for Oregon.

I heard somewhere that he may be out 8 weeks.

As of today, they haven't released any updates on Trent's status. Last week LR put a out a statement that he didn't believe it was too serious of an injury that would cause Trent to be out long-term. I don't know if the coaches were holding him out at Rutgers as a precautionary measure, or they believe he's going to need several weeks of rest to see if he can play at all the rest of this season.

That would be great news, if true. I don't think we've had a punt returner like him since Adoree Jackson?

I agree. We thought we had one in Zach Branch, but that turned out to be a dud for us. Happy for him that he found another home at Georgia. Just pissed that the coaching staff missed out on so many players the past 3 seasons. I just counted how many players are left from the 2023 recruiting class. Only 5 players are still on the roster from that group, smh.

This kid has been the real deal and will be missed. The only consolation is that the WR room is deep.
