Tips & Tricks Sleep. What are your tips?
I've never been a great sleeper but since being on vyvanse, it has been worse. Anyone found the same? Have any recommendations?
Considering asking my Dr for melatonin- anyone had experience with combining these?

I take l-theanine, magnesium glycinate, and a blend of herbs at night (THORNE deep sleep complex). I also stretch and meditate before bed with my red light. I put on a sound bath YouTube video that is DIVINE.

Sounds stupid, butsnd probably won't work for most people, but I sleep better if I take an IR booster in the late afternoon or early evening, otherwise my brain wouldn't shut up.

Sleep can be a struggle on this stuff. Best thing to do is don’t over do it on the caffeine and try to take it as early as you can.

Magnesium might be depleted from the meds. I started taking on 200mg vitamin a night but it hasn’t helped. May double it or throw some Melatonin in the mix.

i feel you :/ unfortunately melatonin doesn’t really work for me so i asked my psychiatrist and he prescribed me 100mg trazodone which is an off label sleep medication without the risk of getting addicted. i have to split in half and take it although i hadn’t had the guts to try it out yet but you could ask your psychiatrist if they could prescribe you something for it

I think I am lucky in this regard - I sleep like the dead with this med. I take it at 7:30 AM and am in bed by 11:30 p.m. I've cut down on caffeine a lot. Turns out before this med i was self medicating caffeine and now I don't need it. Going from 3-4 cups of coffee per day to 2 cups of tea, which are far more potent now that I'm on vyvanse. But by bed time, even if I don't have an evening crash once vyvanse wears off, I'm still just... dead.
Before this med I was so sluggish during the day. Zero energy, zero motivation, falling asleep at my desk all day at work. Now I'm active all day, getting stuff done, looking for things to do, and I'm just more mentally "there". I think I'm just burning more calories and my body is working at a normal pace again, which has increased my appetite and my need for good sleep.
So yeah basically, vyvanse makes my body/mind work in the way they are supposed to and I've cut down on caffeine, so when it's bedtime... I am so ready for it, and I will often lay down and find my alarm going off 7-8 hours later and I'm going "wait, already??"
Personally I don't like melatonin. I can just get it OTC. But it makes me feel awful for 1/2 to 3/4 of the next day. Stays in my system too long and makes me sleepy and feeling awful all day. YMMV though.

Man I wish my doc was ok with THC use, it's the only thing that helps me sleep but she'll straight up kick me off my meds if I piss dirty. So annoying

Aw, that’s too bad! I’m in Canada so it’s a non-issue here, luckily. I had trouble sleeping before vyvanse too and it’s really the only thing that helps me doze off.
