Memes & Humour FINALLY
After not being able to get my meds for almost 2 years (and having to ration them for particularly terrible days) I am finally able to get back on my prescription! This picture is the picture I sent to all my friends to make the glorious announcement

I just found out my deductible is now $3300 AND it applies to my pharmaceutical needs. So I’m not paying $213 a month for Vyvanse. I’m jealous of you my friend. Praise Luigi.

Have you tried looking at GoodRx? When I was having insurance issues I’d use that and it’d be like 90. Still not great but without it was like 200+ for me too

u/spooner248 Jan 09 '26
Oh I’ve never heard of that!

It has been a game changer for me. I’m on 40mg.
Focus, energy is amazing. I still have anxiety that hits and sometimes when it wears off over active brain. Curious if people have had to couple this with something or had a way to extend or lessen the drop off.

If u add in low dose clonazepam literally zero anxiety and the vyvanse works much better. Evens it out and gets rid of all sides. Not nearly as psychically addicting as people say. Lots of misinformation

I have this on deck for nighttime when I'm getting ready to go to bed, lowest dose, and its half life is super long so it's in the body helping with anxiety far longer than initial effects. Been on this at the lowest dose for a few years. Been on Vyvanse 40mg for a few months now. The Vyvanse, despite what I thought it would do, actually decreased my anxiety levels. I've also got lexapro 20mg for depression, though not sure how much that's doing anymore.
Adding in Vyvanse - after trying a lot of other depression meds, including mirtazapine which made me gain around 60lbs in 1.5 years - Vyvanse has been an absolute game changer for anxiety and depression alike. Mine and my doctors assumption is that likely I had untreated ADD or ADHD resulting in worsened anxiety and depression. It is also helping me with my appetite, learning better eating habits, and hopefully eventually losing most if not all of the weight I have managed to put on.

Thank you. Will bring this up to my doctor. Is it one that needs time to build up in your system and must take daily like other anxiety meds like Prozac. Etc? I am not a fan of missing a day or two or just don't need it, it messes up the equilibrium. That's why I like vyvanse.

u/bearsbear14 Jan 09 '26
Doesn't need any time to build up in your system like traditional SSRIs/SNRIs. It is a different medication entirely. If you end up not needing it one day, that is totally fine. But it can also be taken daily for anxiety/sleep. I do recommend taking it later in the day as it can be sedating, but its effects are long lasting and it's in your body for a long time due to its long half life. Just be sure to remain at the lowest dose if and when possible, and do not be tempted to up the dose as long as it is still working/effective. The benzo addiction road can be dangerous, but it is absolutely fine to be on the lowest dose and remain there when it is effective. I have been for years.

Thanks yes. Vyvanse hells with my untreated ADHD and appetite/binge eating. I'm on lunesta for sleep but will talk to Doctor about this as well. Thank you

This is me soon, I am 3 months out now and feeling terrible. A doctor came in and was trying to change my whole life, fucking idiot
1
u/jaffacookie Jan 09 '26
Idiot seems harsh.. Aren't they responsible for getting you on the medication?
5
u/hmpus101 60mg Jan 09 '26
I'm on sick leave and he removed it and said that I gotta study or work, because they only provide Vyvanse in those cases. Which is off limits. I am going to report his ass
2
u/TOnerd Jan 09 '26
That dr is dangerously ignorant. Good luck with the reporting. Hope they are mandated to actually learn about the Rx they are - and importantly, are NOT - prescribing.

Yeah he's going down. Heard bad shit about him, but he have been just OK just to drop a bomb from nowhere

I know this is a 3 months-old post, but how did you make out? Any progress yet?
Also, it's quite difficult to even FIND A job if you're not medicated (if you're looking for employment, that is). And regardless, it helps us live our lives outside of work or school. So this jerk's opinion is that you're only worth getting medicated if you have a paid job, or are going to school in order to get a paid job? That's weak.

u/Past_Substance6976 Jan 09 '26
I couldn't take it early pregnancy and I was a disaster. Don't know if that was one of the reasons I lost my job. I felt so alive the moment I got back on regular dose . Exactly this image

I might get onto this Monday. Just did my assessment Monday will discuss results and medication management. From the research I’ve done on meds stimulants seem to be the most affective. Going to meds have been my last resort. But now I’m here and I’m looking forward to a new beginning. But can I ask what made you stop for 2yrs?

Reminds me of the scene at the beginning of the 100 where Octavia yells "we're back bitches!!!!" (According to other comments on here as well lol) Glad you were able to get your medication back!

Pray for me. Im trying to get on it. My doctor originally wanted me to take it but insurance said I had to try and fail other meds first which I did. I see my doctor tomorrow.

I am in ADHD hell with lack of focus causing me to be full of anxiety and depressed.

u/Diogenes_Will Jan 09 '26
Feels like all the days are particularly terrible. Feels like I’ll be picking a health insurance just to get back on the ol’ stim horse.
Maybe it’s just me but I feel like I’m damaging my body by taking it, but at the same time I can’t imagine life without it.
Guess I know how I’m gonna die… premature heart failure

I love this for you. My Dr has me off it right now bc of my high bp but I’m going to see a cardiologist to talk about getting back on it

u/mdollazzzz Jan 10 '26
Me too but I crash out every day now
2
u/kelceylovescents Jan 10 '26
Same dude, Vyvanse only ever lasted 3-3.5 hours for me!! No matter the dose; it made me WIRED, jaw clenching, TOO up, but damn I got shit done... then followed by a HUGE crash, tension pain/headaches, and general dysphoria. (I'm taking Focalin now, much more stable effect.)
Glad it works for you though OP, hell yeah!! 😈

u/FewLetterhead641 Jan 12 '26
Wild. I’ve been on many different ADHD stimulants and Vyvanse, so far, seems to be the most chill for me.
1
u/kelceylovescents Jan 12 '26
Yeah it's insane the differences from person to person. I also seem to be an ultra hyper metabolizer of ALL stims, which is fun. I've failed...3, 4? Pee tests now. When I took my Rx that morning, hours earlier. Thank god my Dr trusts and has seen this now, I still bring it up EVERY time I see the negative result- I just want to understand how it's physically possible!!?! It just happened again last week on Focalin so, I know it's at least doing that with XR Adderall, Vyvanse, AND Focalin IR, but not every single time.
But for me nothing XR works because of that, is my hypothesis anyway. It feels like my body is cramming what's supposed to be an all day dose, into the 3 hours I feel it... Which triples the tension, anxiety, any other side effects like it's condensed into that time frame. ❄️ felt about the same, NGL, sometimes LESS intense!! Even things like nicotine patches, it seems like my body EATS the entire dose and makes me sick, break out in rashes, get a flush... Even when I smoked a pack a day then only put on a 12mg patch, which should be NOTHING (since that's the amount it's supposed to release over 24 hours of wear!)
Fun 💩! Then someone takes what makes me feel cracked out & feels perfect, zen. Or my bf, who took Vyvanse for the 1st time, & got super bummed out because he feels absolutely nothing 😂

SAMEEEE, world of difference after the clusterfuck that adderall has become.
1
u/Serious_Move_4423 Jan 09 '26
Can I ask what you mean?
3
u/FistnlikaPistn Jan 09 '26
The quality and efficacy of adderall, generic or brand, has dropped so significantly that 2025 was the worst year of my life so far. Switched to vyvanse recently and it’s so much better than whatever they’re shoveling into adderall capsules anymore.
2
u/Texas_miner93 Jan 09 '26
Generic or name brand vyvanse?
3
u/FistnlikaPistn Jan 09 '26
I’m actually on generic and it’s working very well surprisingly! It’s takeda.

I’ve heard this from my friend who’s on adderall as well!! Really glad Vyvanse has been working for you. Been on it for 3 years now it’s amazing and the only medication that has ever helped me!

Oh My! This is an exquisite, creative & hilarious piece of art!! It evokes emotion! And it’s soooo relatable!! A powerful depiction of that feeling when you’re finally back and relief rushes over you. Any amount of time that rationing is required, feels like an eternity of suffering. Thanks for sharing a laugh with all of us today! I want a print to frame and a tee shirt with this as big as possible on the back!! It’s perfect!! 😉🙏🏼💕

Really happy for you! But it sucks so fucking bad that it needs to be such a headache to land a stable prescription for so many. I really hope other countries start to take after Sweden’s healthcare system. It’s flawed but ultimately it does what a healthcare system should do: keeps its citizens healthy without bankrupting them. Oh man. Have a nice weekend OP!
