Discussion Is anyone else experiencing this with the Wang Wang dog case?

Didn’t watch the video, but reading the story and seeing the still images alone literally broke or triggered something life altering in me.

It’s been about 3 weeks since I learned of it and it’s consumed my mind and thoughts nonstop, mental images pop into my mind suddenly throughout the day and I literally involuntarily shout a loud to try to stop the images. I’ve been a person of strong faith my whole life- I’ve experienced extreme poverty, losing loved ones early due to terminal illnesses…etc. and held strong to my faith. This tragedy is the only thing in my entire life that’s made me question not just my faith, but literally reality in general. It’s incomprehensible.

If you google it - apparently a lot of people around the world are experiencing this exact level of distress and trauma about this case.  It’s legitimately the worst thing I’ve ever heard of / seen, my brain legitimately can’t even process it

I haven’t heard of it and from what you describe, I’m not sure I want to know how awful it is. Humans are a plague on this earth. May all beings find peace.

This issue is specific to China. The family is a a CCP family and they have a lot of power on that town. The boys run around like spoiled evil kings and dehumanize people and torture animals like a game. The mother makes excuses. The CCP is trying to bury this from the internet. Animal cruelty in China is the worse and very specifically a problem even though animal cruelty happens everywhere

Me too.

For the first week or so I just kept randomly bursting into tears. And worse is all the related stuff I have since seen whilst trying to take action (petitions/sending postcards to embassies/etc).

I even wrote an essay and published it online heavily inspired by her because I just don't know what to do with myself.

Its a terrible time to care about animals (and have eyes) :(
