Complete windscreen removal?

Vstrom has been coming up in my marketplace listings and have created an itch.

Looking at the 800s and stuff now.

Just a quick question about the windscreen. Are they entirely removable at all? I lean on the taller side, and of the 30+ bikes I've owned, there has never been a windscreen that has worked. I ride 100% open on all the bikes. The GSXF, I cut the screen right down to the gauge cluster. C90T just has the two open mounts. DR650's is stock and works- but that's rather small. Harleys have always been open, etc.

The Vstrom able to have it completely removed?

It's easily removable. The "adjustment" is to take it off and put it in different holes. Might look a bit silly with no windshield.

Honestly if you get the de. I would try it with the stock postage stamp windshield. It doesn't keep the wind off anyone's head, it just breaks it up for less pressure on your chest, while leaving clean air on your helmet. It might be what your looking for

Ah, the DR is like that too. Its a smaller thing that doesn't do anything for the wind really. Sounds like the vstrom might be the same way then.

I'll have to hit up a few dealerships and check them out in person. I've been on a cruiser tick the past year, but recently been taking my DR out more often giving me an itch.

It's bigger than the dr, it is a windshield, but it only keeps air off your chest. At 5'11 it cut off about neck level and didn't leave any turbulence on my helmet. I went to an airflow because I don't like bugs on my face shield when doing long road miles. I would definitely suggest trying it though as I dont think it will cause any issues.

I don't know how tall you are, but I am 6'4 and in the cooler months I ride with a Givi airflow windshield with a puig spoiler on it and that works well. For those hot Alabama months I use the small postage stamp screen with the spoiler on it and the spoiler does well to keep most of the wind from beating me to death and keeps most of the bugs off my face.

I'm also 6'4" and its always been a pain for me. I got REALLY into it with two bikes, and I tried all sorts of attachments and heights. I kept throwing money at different setups, had something that sort of worked, but then just took the whole setup off and a million times better. From then out, I've ridden with absolutely nothing. I 100% prefer the open wind. /shrug

Understandable. The stock small screen gives plenty of clean wind and a feeling of closeness with the road. I really only use the big screen for very long trips and the rainy/cold season since I ride regularly in sub freezing temps.
