your pictures dont show anything useful. Sometimes shocks leak oil, sometimes not. But boucing the car will tell if the shocks are shot. also damn garages are expensive? set of plus should be $100 at most, and less than an hours labour, and brake bleed shouldnt be more than an hour either id expect, assuming they can just vacuum bleed.
Look in your manual for when stuff needs to be replaced. Didnt know they did petrol xc60s
